JMU Pro Day
is today...I know someone (Anders?) posted it a week ago on Pro Dukes thread. Important enough to isolate and post information related to it.

Looks like Thornton, Ravenel and Greene had big days.

Was there any report of the number of teams in attendance/sent someone to scout?

Some players looked like they prepared/trained for this day better than others.

20 teams scouting 12 players is a pretty good ratio. Hope some of them make a roster this year.

Did PAO only do the bench press?

Either that or his numbers weren't amongst the better results in the other categories. It's not like he's a top of the 1st round prospect, he needs to show up at a pro day and excel while showing his injuries are healed and now back at 100%.

RE: JMU Pro Day
https://richmond.com/sports/college/from...d3662.html

"Centeio has had one of the busiest offseasons of the dozen. He said he worked a lot on slimming down his weight, since that was a critique he was given during the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, and also worked on strengthening his back hip. To make both those goals a reality, Centeio took up boxing."

-I thought he could've looked better in this area. I look at Thornton and he seems to have been working hard for this day to showcase his skills and definitely added muscle. Then I see TC (in the pictures and workout video) and he looks like he hasn't worked out since the season ended. A pro day for a guy with an uphill battle to get into a pro camp is a day to get noticed for the right reasons, not that you were holding some extra weight and ran an average time. If those concerns were expressed to him at the NFLPA bowl 2 months ago, either he was in horrible shape then or he truly hasn't done enough in those 2 months to prepare for this day.

Yeah not a great time as guys like Stetson Bennett were in the 4.67 range at combine.

As far as PAO I gotta think that he did not do a bunch of the other drills as there is no way he wouldn't beat at 4.83 40 time. My guess is he knew he wasn't going to run a great time so he concentrated on the strength areas.

Is that an option? I don't think any NFL team would let a kid say (or be interested in one) "nah I'll skip that part"...

Really hope his 40 was good

Guys skip certain events all the time and are not forced to do them even at the combine. It's possible he had a nagging leg injury that allowed him to do bench but not running or shuttle tests.

Sure guys do it all the time.....it also is a big deal if you don't have an unbiased documented time, etc....to fall back on. Scouts are not gonna just take your word for it come draft time.

Correct. I have a friend that pulled his hammy while running the 40 at the Combine so he had a bad time, and it didn't fully heal by his pro day. It ended up costing him in regards to the draft. If not expected to be drafted it could really hold you back as a projected UDFA.

Exactly.....sitting out things is not a big deal if you are a project top 3ish round draft pick....but if you are trying to claw your way in/up.....it is a HUGE deal.

Percy went out with an injury in the final game. Seem to recall he was in a boot. I know it was four months ago but perhaps he couldn't get back to 100% or had a setback in the recovery.
