How are B12 members handling paying players (NIL)?
UC wants 7,000 to donate $350 each. Strangely I have not received an email request, perhaps because I already pay UC over $5,000 a year of which $3,500 is a required donation for my 2 football tickets.

Taken directly from their public Initial Articles of Incorporation filed with the Ohio Secretary of State::
Cincy Reigns, Inc. is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes in accordance with Section 501(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. More specifically, Cincy Reigns, Inc. is dedicated to supporting, serving, and resourcing the educational, civic, humanitarian, and philanthropic ecosystem of Greater Cincinnati with community-based programs, outreach, mentorship, and humanitarian assistance.

Why should it qualify as a 501©(3) when it intends to funnel the money to players?

Disclosure I earned a Masters in Tax at UC.

I am starting to question if I want to keep sending UC over $5k a year to support low level pro players. We now have to pay players beyond a free education, room, board and a reasonable spending allowance? Perhaps it is time to just buy Bengals tickets again?

What say you?

RE: How are B12 members handling paying players (NIL)?
UCF has 2 major NIL Collectives.
- KingdomNIL: Large On-Time Contributions
- Mission Control: Smaller Monthly Subscription based Contributions

Neither of the are Tax deducible.

I contribute to UCF as a donor and Mission Control as a subscriber.

For tax purposes, I donate to UCF Athletics and my high school athletics program.

UPDATE:
Apparently Mission Control is now merging with KingdomNIL. So my subscription was just ended... lol. Looks like Kingdom NIL has subscriptions now. So I guess I'll do that going forward.

I won't be contributing to the NIL, I donate and buy season tickets. I'm not a bank. Go get a job!

$25 a month isn’t breaking the bank. Lol

I donate, buy season tickets, and subscribe to NIL.

Haha, I know.

Just ranting. I'd rather see NIL get standardized and non wild wild west.

No idea it seems there is very little if any disclosure on who is getting paid what and where that money came from.

BYU has partnered with The Royal Blue NIL Collective--which will span all student athletes and includes financial support through NIL endorsements, financial literacy, taxes, investing, and other financial education, branding and marketing, and do’s and don’ts of social media and elevating their brands. It’s operated by Oncoor Sports.
