but couldn't help but feel envious for Arkansas.. We could have been there in the Sweet 16 .. but the Tigers were not ready to win last night.
Arkansas has a good team.. we need to recruit more players like that.. Can't believe Walsh is only a freshman.
Arkansas has struggled to find "it" all season after the Brazile injury and the Nick Smith Jr adventure of "is he really hurt or sandbagging till the NBA draft" drama.
Such is the danger & distraction of recruiting one & done kids… they typically place themselves above the team & can check out if they encounter the slightest bit of turbulence.

AAC teams will not have the luxury of getting it together late in the season. Doing that means having to win the conference tournament or playing in the NIT with an NCAA team.
Memphis will have to come out hot, win almost every quality ooc game and then go no worse than 16-2 in conference - something like a 4 or 5 loss season to ensure any kind of at-large bid.. The conference will be tougher than that but will get zero respect from the media or the committee.
There will be no time to get acquainted and build chemistry. The kids better live together all summer and have that sorted out before official practice even starts.

Brazile was the best player in the team, his loss cost us more conference wins that Nick Smith Jr's "knee" . This team with Brazile healthy was no worse than a 4 seed. There's not a legit 3 point threat on the rotation outside of the Pinion kid that couldn't play D if his life depended on it. They were subbing him in last night at the end after Kansas made basketkets and pulling him after our possessions. Nuck Smith spent 2 months in LA "rehabbing" his knee and just decided to show back up when no matter what, we were getting an NCAA at large. We lost in his best games. He was a liability during the Kansas game. You saw that in the first two minutes when he didn't hustle for a rebound and stood there allow Kansas to get it and the second chance points. I like the kid, I just think he has too many people in the background outside of the coaches.

Penny doesn't recruit the right types of players. Too much emphasis on athleticism and not enough on skill. Don't care what the recruiting rankings are anymore because they are overly obsessed with how well players can dunk on 5'10" overmatched AAU opponents.

Rupp Rafters is so blown up you can’t get on it. Probably everyone calling for Calipari’s head on a platter. He’s not going anywhere, however, with that gold-plated lifetime contract.

As soon as Texas' season is over, I suspect he will be named their next head coach.

Here is my favorite quote about Calipari on their board today: “Greasy headed mother ****er. Send him to hell!”
Most of their fan base calls him “Cow” now, in reference to his apparent middle age spread.

Totally agree. Penny recruits athletes as his offense has few set plays and has a lot of one on one breakdowns. He is not a coach that can recruit a player with skills and develop those skills over a players career. Does anybody think Lomax or Dandridge has improved in any area over the span of their careers?]

Why would they do that - Texas’ current seem to be doing pretty well to me with their current coach. Any potential suitor for Calipari better beware - the tread is worn off the tire with him. He’s gotten fat,, he is very rich, and just doesn’t have it in him to inject energy into any program at this point. Remember, when he was 50 and had just taken the UK job someone asked him how long he intended to stay - his reply was that if he was still coaching and not retired by age 60, then something went wrong. I think Calipari mainly likes coaching because of the money and fame it brings, rather than the actual coaching. I think Tom Izzo or John Thompson are examples of someone who really likes to coach. Since Penny is already rich, I have to believe he falls in the latter category, as well, provided he can stomach the inevitable criticism that comes with the job.

Marquette got robbed.. that was a clear goaltending against Michigan St.. It would have made it a 3 pt game with a lot to play.. instead, Michigan St got away with it.
These refs always protecting the blue bloods.. Coach Izzo crying a river at the end of the game.. Pssst

UT’s gonna smoke either of the state teams in the elite 8. Sadly this might be the year they finally make the final 4. Could have been us…SMH

Not a goaltend. Happened simultaneously to hitting the backboard which is a legal block. Was a good no call
We would have destroyed this FDU team. So brutal

UCF getting manhandled by 20 late in the half. UCF having a terrible shooting night. Getting through the minefield of the NCAA tourney is so tough - you can’t have any sort of letdown.
