But whatever, it was a fun ride and all we can do now is wait until next year to see what kind of team Penny can put together. Even though he lost control of the team a bit last night he has improved in leaps and bounds and I am thankful he's here. He doesn't have to be, he doesn't need the money and he sure doesn't need all the headaches that go along with the job but he still does it. It must be love. And I think that's the single most important change I've seen in this team, they are ruled by a leader who loves them, and it shows.

I do hate that I now have free time on my hands, I was all ready to enjoy a weekend of college hoops, now I couldn't care less about it. I guess I'll clean out my garage.

I wonder how much the FDU upset 30 min prior to our game distracted our team. It certainly had that effect on me.

I have to admit I had a similar reaction to it.

Very good season with some disappointing loses. The worst last night.

This team under achieved all season long.
100% disagree. Don’t have the energy to argue it.

Me either, but we made the same type mistakes last night that cost us early in the season. Seems like it is under achieving when you give away multiple games that you should win with careless mistakes and wasted opportunities vs inferior competition.

Last night was a veritable comedy of errors, don't even want to rehash it.

This morning my reaction this morning is just, "ugggghhh"

Really no words to describle this feeling. I'm sure the team and Penny feels worse than we do this morning. Just a tough, tough loss with too many mistakes.

We certainly didn't play to our potential.

I have to agree about playing to our potential. But we have been slipping into that mode all season. We play to our level of competition. What we need to develop over the course of the season is that “killer instinct” to step on the gas and bury the opposition. No matter who they are. Overlook no one kick azz every time on the court.

oh really? Beating #1 Houston for the American conference tournament championship is mediocrity? How many teams beat Houston this season?

My point exactly. When 1 win becomes more important than the entire season = Mediocrity.

Not necessarily. There is enough blame to go around. You can’t coach the “dawg” into a player. They either have it or they don’t.

We were one point ... One missed TO, one bad call on Williams, one missed assignment ... from playing tomorrow. None of you trolls would be here would you. Start a new thread ...
Don't tresspass on a thread meant to thank our coach for another great year. We won the conference tournament this year ... First time in 10 years ... And the comment about No NIT without KD ... Who recruited him. Jesus ... We lost the 8,9 game by one point to the team ranked right behind us.
Anyway ... Tough loss Coach ... Can't wait till next year !! 04-cheers

Some folks think we would get these players without our current Coach. Some folks are so delusional it's laughable.

Get real.

Penny is our coach. Now and hopefully for however long he wants the gig.

RE: Thank you Penny
I think the point is this team generally played to the level of their competition. In virtually every loss we let the opponent hang around & with the exception of the AL game, where we were behind, it cost us. We showed killer instinct against UH that should have been there every game, especially last night against FAU - especially in the NCAA where it's win or go home. So here we are, watching others play. And coaching plays big in this issue.

Penny - great recruiter
Coaching is still a work in progress. For everyone’s sanity, hopefully there’s an exponential growth in his coaching acumen over the next couple years. There’s a strong chance we may go 2 decades without a sweet 16 appearance.

Without Edey would Purdue have been a 1 seed? Would they have been even a 6 seed? They may not have even made the tournament under an 8/9 seed.

At least we weren’t UNC this year. Always remember that.
