If I had to put my finger on one thing that has been consistent and very annoying in the Penny era is the lack of "kill mode". We have put a few teams away, but in most cases we play to the level of competition and make every game a close one.
Well when you move the ball to get a 10 point lead only then to decide to start running clock with 5-10 minutes left you’re going to have games where the other team comes back. Funny how in the AAC tourney he kept the hammer down for the most part. But he reverted back in this game imo

Yep, I have to admit when he slowed it down with so much time left, I started having flashbacks of every game we have lost where we slowed it down way too early. it would be different if we were a consistent, half-court team, but we are not. Not by a long-shot.

Still thinking what if? Purdue losing gave us a relative walk to the sweet 16. And there we had the opportunity to beat UTK since they won't play us otherwise. Man what a missed opportunity! And now we've established FAU as a new hill to climb in a watered down AAC going forward. WHAT A CRITICAL LOSS!!

It was maybe the worst loss in the last decade, in terms of building our image and pushing the program forward.
