I agree with you guys. I wanted Penny as coach, in fact, there were rumors about Penny wanting to coach when Tubby was hired and I would have taken Penny then. But, it really concerned me his first season or two when he kept saying "we are not reinventing the wheel" and basketball is basketball, etc... Yes, that is all true, but being a HC isnt just about dribbling/shooting the ball and recruiting players with the highest numbers. I think he has made leaps and bounds in the other areas and we now see a team that works with each other and gets a long.

Penny is learning. Unlike one other coach who was hard headed and didn’t want to listen to anyone

I’ve watched a ton of tournament games so far. My big takeaway is that the top half of our conference is way better than we’ve been getting credit for. There are a lot of teams with decent seeds that would be middle of the pack in the AAC.

I got YouTube TV for 2 weeks free trial to watch these games, Final 4 is on CBS.

No denying it. He decided to rebuild his roster via the portal with a stud and mostly roll players. Coached them to an AAC championship and a berth in the NCAA tournament. That’s no small feat.

That makes next season a real challenge IMO, a lot of young guys coming in with no real experience at PG. Hope we find another KD in the portal.

It truly does and I’m sure that’s not lost on him. It will be interesting to see what he comes up with.

Just saw Calipari make the same mistake he made in 2008 where a foul might guard against a 3 pt shot. UK had a foul to give with Providence with the ball under 10 sec & UK let it play out & Providence hits the 3 - he'll never learn.

I'll never understand why coaches are so against using that ploy at the end of games. The odds of winning the game doing that go way up.
