Dennis, PLEASE STAY!
If he doesn't leave and UT makes the dance next season... He will likely be reg season Champ 3x, POY 2x, and the chosen one to break the streak! His number will hang next to Mix.

Eric Page is the comp in fb... You never know what's on the other side. I understand Rollins because he's so young and has more physical tools like the height and length. Dennis may be a great pg in the NBA but has way more obstacles... STAY!

Twitter source, and post redacted... We will see. I hope he doesn't leave.

It's going to be near impossible for generational program wealth if players transfer more than one time/ keep leaving for the NBA. 30 years of no NBA players and back to back seasons losing guards would suck.

It's a Catch-22 for sure...but players will pick up on the fact that K has gotten multiple guys into the NBA if Dennis does leave. That will do wonders in recruiting guards both via the portal and high school...so yes, losing him would absolutely suck as it basically turns this into a rebuild situation, but if K remains here, he has two pretty massive feathers in his cap to recruit against the teams in the Horizon, MAC, and American at this point.

RE: Dennis, PLEASE STAY!
If I were a player, I'd cringe at this thread title coming from an adult.

However, it's here, let's talk.

Goal of the university is to move people up. IF Dennis can get a round 2, who wouldn't cheer for that? Moving to another team and university to take on more challenges is what risk takers do. They don't spend their lives living in the parent's shadow. They separate, start from scratch, whatever to take the risks and see where their talents live on their own merits. Then they come back and live off the parents. If Dennis goes out, his stated goal is to become a coach. Go out, see how others do it (same thing I opined Candle should have done), then move up and hopefully come back someday as coach. The perfect story.

BG just brought in a coach that never played. Was a high school assistant then took a risk, moved across country working as an unpaid assistment and made a name. This is the way.

I miss any player but there is nothing they accomplish on our court the university can take pride in more than what they do after.

RE: Dennis, PLEASE STAY!
We fans have our own needs, which don't always coincide with the needs of the players. As a UT fan, I ardently hope that Dennis stays. If he leaves, I certainly will not blame him. I also will not pretend that my opinion on what's best for him is worth even two cents, especially since I am biased. I knows what's best for me, and that is for Dennis to stay!

My want is for selfish reasons only. I want to go to the dance. I want our players to be celebrated as the best during their time. IMO if he stays he can accomplish something no other than Steve Mix has here. Something Page could have done in fb. I will root for him in the NBA if he chooses that route. But Toledo mbb would be at another impass.

He is forgotten to me (not that he should care), if he transfers up. It being the chase and 3rd transfer being the reason why. This wouldn't be Mar Jackson using his grad transfer. This would be a guy chasing limelight for a 3rd time and proving zero allegiance. I DO NOT THINK HE WILL. He hasn't said anything of the sort, so it's a moot point.

TK did say post UM game that he thinks RayJ should go through the NBA draft process and hire an agent and see what happens.

How about allowing him to do what’s best for him and keeping the selfish requests to a minimum? Very poor form. “Don’t do what’s in your best interest, just entertain me” isn’t how I’d hope Rockets fans/alumni communicate with our student-athletes.

Ok Gatekeeper. He has free will and already will do what's in his best interest... I'm not a fan of RayJ Dennis personal goals in life. I'm a UT Rockets fan. I want the best players we have ever had to stay Rockets as long eligibility allows them to! If I don't care we retain our best guys then why the hell am I even a fan of anything. I could root for Kentucky and their new starting 5 each season.

I'm a Packers fan. I don't care what motivates Aaron Rodgers in his personal life to be traded to the Jets. I wanted him to stay a Packer and win as a Packer. I don't hate the guy, but at the end of the day, next man up. Ya feel me?

Can’t agents be hired to help with NIL also? Wouldn’t it be smart as a community to help him get some deals and make some money as he stays in Toledo. Guys in football at large schools came back with huge NIL guarantees. Michigan has a specific NIL fund in football to encourage players not sure fire top 2-3 round picks into coming back and earning meaningful money. Also, if RayJ leaves for another school I’m sure an NIL package will be given to him that is pretty good. Why not get paid to stay in college if you enjoy playing college ball? [/u]

Dennis, PLEASE STAY!
If Dennis transfers to a different school he would have to sit a year most likely, since it would be his second transfer. I would think this would make it less likely he goes to another school.

We have a collective. Not sure how large the fund is. Sami M. for the women posts ads for the Black and White Cab company. Dennis busted onto the scene just recently. He may have some better opportunities coming. But more other places I'm sure.

Not if he has graduated already, I believe.

I listened to Coach K's comments. He said Dennis either goes to the NBA or comes back to Toledo. If true, he obviously will not put his name in the portal.
