Same, but was he really a guard here?

Part of the reason KD puts up the numbers he puts up is that outside of him and Williams, we just don't have that much we can count on offensively.

Tyreke Evans and Derrick Rose were guys that played pretty much the same role but we didn't have to rely on them necessarily to go get 25 every night because they were on much better teams. I'm probably absolutely putting the ball in their hands over KD

Same with CDR. He was flatly unstoppable with the 35 second shot clock unless you threw box and one (or triangle and two if Rose was in the game) at him. Arguable that he even counts as a guard though. Hard to even look at Carney as a guard. He was probably a greater overall player, but I'm putting the ball in KDs hands over Carney for a must have bucket for sure.

Williams should also go down as one of the all time greats. He gets a bad rap with a lot of people imo.

No doubt about it. Who could forget that ball of energy exploding on the court as soon as he entered his first game @ Tulane 12/16/21? And it was no fluke. We’ve had three years of it. He has been invaluable to this team.

RE: Kendric All-timer?
We didn’t witness any “growing pains” with KD. He has always been the most prolific scorer and arguably the best player every time he stepped on the floor in a Memphis uniform. Have there been more polished, better college players here by the time they figured it out? Undoubtedly. But there aren’t many…

Hopefully Penny can continue to work the portal like he has.

When I mentioned I’m 30 and I didn’t start following until Rodney Carney was here, I thought it was obvious I wouldn’t have seen Penny or Elliot Perry play. That’s why I said “for me”. I guess I could’ve been even more clear ?

Don’t worry about. Some of us old timers get upset when we perceive that one of our hero’s isn’t getting a fair shake

RE: Kendric All-timer?
Best one year player IMO of all time was Larry Kenon. But KD affects so much of the game with his speed and assists. I have never seen a player just completely take over a game like Kendrick. I'm "lucky" to be old enough to remember seeing Kenon play. He was 6'9" and had major hops. His 16.7 RPG led the nation his one year. Probably the best ,JUCO player ever to play D-1. I wish there was more video of him as a Tiger. It's hard to compare a center to a guard. Kenon and Finch were as prolific as Dandre and K.D. That's why the '73 Tigers were in the title game and tied with UCLA at the half. Walton played almost entire last half with 4 fouls. I never have understood to this day why coach Bartow quit running plays for Kenon to get the ball and go at Walton more. Larry K. had fouls already too I guess is why and knew the refs were not going to call a 5th foul on Walton.

Kendric Davis is definitely one of the best Tigers I've witnessed in the last ten years. No knock on any of the former Tigers. Just wish we had him more than one year. He has no draft buzz which is a shame.

I’m one year old, and Kendric Davis is the best guard all-time I’ve seen in my lifetime. Can anyone else think of a better guard since last July?

I have been watching religiously since my first year of college, which was also Calipari's first year. KD is the best guard in my memory.

Without a doubt. Give him to us for four years and I'd just about bet the farm on consistent NCAA appearances and very deep runs, possibly even a title.

Don't rule it out yet.

I wouldn't rule it out yet either. This team has improved more in the last month and a half than any team I remember. It seems like each player is peaking at the same time the team is really jelling. It's been amazing to watch, and KD seems to be the catalyst for all it.

Getting hot at the right time really matters. We just got to focus on one game at a time. I love our chances this year.

Kendric All-timer?
He’s a great player. He didn’t play well last night, but he and DW pretty much carried this team to the tournament. We easily could’ve made it to the Sweet 16 if we didn’t get fricked by the refs.

With us being under investigation, we had no blue chip recruits in sight for the 2022/2023 season. KD helped us salvage what was sure to be an underwhelming season and for that I am grateful.
