I hate we are paired with these guys. They are the type of team I’d normally be pulling for.

The committee loves doing this too. Two years in a row we don’t get a P5. Why couldn’t we have Illinois in Birmingham instead ?

Very pretty, but outrageously expensive.
We went to the Bowl game there a few years pack.

Went to the Boca bowl that year and its at their stadium. Campus was super nice and the staff there was awesome too. The security guards were giving people rides in their golf carts, telling us the fastest way to get stadium, telling us where to park, etc. Super experience except of course getting blasted by WKU. Spending a week in Miami in December is definitely something I will want to do again too!

If we play them there in the shoulder season in Florida, August to mid-November....the hotel rates are lower and the tourists are gone. Then, if you want a great trip, take a few days off and drive the overseas highway to Key West and the Florida Keys.

just remember the distance does not equal how long it will take to get to key west

a lot of slow, bumper to bumper traffic

If I ever win the lottery, Key West is one place I’ll buy a home. Find me one that is stumbling distance to Duval St.

Once you get out of Miami and Dade County, it is not so bad. Especially August to Mid November. That drive was on my bucket list and I have done it four times. What takes the extra time is stopping at places along the route from Key Largo to Key West.

I have family that recently moved to the Tampa area.

FL has a high-speed train, Brightline, that connects the Keys, the Atlantic coast, all the way up to Orlando (station is under construction). They've done some tests running the train at 135.

There's talk of running the line to Tampa/St Pete.

I wouldn't mind a vacation taking the train to the Keys.

They want to weed out as many non Power 5 teams as fast as possible

on the west side (and seasonal from marco island)

How long is a boat ride from Ft Myers to Key West?

Getting to Key West from Fort Myers is very easy. The Key West Express runs a daily ferry boat from Fort Myers to Key West. And it is worth it! It takes just a fraction of the time – about 4 hours – then it would be to drive and a fraction of the cost to fly.

Provides you can handle that red tide.
