Good luck to Damon, really liked him when he was here

Hearing Pastner might be going to Kentucky to be an assistant. Weird considering all we’ve heard that he and Cal had a falling out when he took this job.

GT clearly does not care to be good at basketball.....

there was no falling out.
Cal urged him to take the Memphis job.
Told Pastner that if things went south...he 'always had a spot on his staff for him'.
They are still pretty close.

Damon was a good defensive coach, if memory serves.

I guess he got out while the getting was good.

Pacific had just got into serious trouble with all kinds of violations when Stoudamire took over. They were horrible before he got there and were OK after he left. He did a solid job considering the hand he was dealt. Is it a good hire for GT? Only time will tell.

^^THIS^^ --When X/JUDAS/FREDO/BENEDICT heard that Josh was offered the MEMPHIS job --he told JOSH that he no longer had a job at KenSUCKY-----that he should 100% take the MEMPHIS job------X/JUDAS/BENEDICT/FREDO said you don't turn down an opportunity like that---because he was a friend he said you no longer have a job at KenSUCKY

Seems to me also that they could have made a better hire. Georgia Tech though doesn't have much of a basketball fan base. The don't draw well at all.

Maybe they aren’t trying hard enough. From a Tech board:

“Folks should love the hire for no other reason that it's the first time since Hewitt that the fanbase from which we're hiring him from aren't throwing a parade to see him gone.”

Under Bobby Cremains it was hard to get tickets for GT basketball in their smallish arena of approx 10K but consistent losing over the years since have reduced attendance to core GT diehards & you can walkup to virtually any GT games and get tickets at face value or less. Same are UGA. I've seen some great teams play at GT & UGA as a walk up. I've even been given tickets at UGA to see some great teams like then top-ten UF.

Damon has a great recruiting ground...If he can take advantage of that he will succeed.

After Arizona’s loss to Princeton today I wonder if Pastner gets a chance at Arizona?

Just a ridiculous hire for the 2nd time in a row. They aren't even trying.
