Deep dive into FAU
FAU Kenpom #26 (Memphis Kenpom #19)
31-3
3 losses are to Ole Miss #115 (12-21) 80-67, of course we beat them, 68-57
@ UAB #62 (25-9) 86-77
@ Middle Tennessee #121 (19-14) 74-70

Best wins
@Florida #63 11/14/23 76-74
vs UAB #62 88-86

They shoot a lot of 3's. As a team 37%, 332/893
for comparison we're 35%, 209/587
Tulane is 34%, 241/713

They play 9 players, 6 who do most of the scoring and only 2 over 6'4"
Johnell Davis 6'4" 13 pts 5 reb 1.5 assists 39% from 3, 84% from the line, 25 min/game
Alijah Martin 6'2" 13 pts 5 reb 1.5 assists 37% from 3, 80% from the line, 25 min/game
Vladislav Goldin 7"1" 10 pts 6 reb 0 for 0 from 3, 60% from the line, 20 min/game (started at Texas Tech)
Nick Boyd 6'3" 9 pts 4 reb 2.5 assists 41% from 3, 66% from the line, 24 min/game
Michael Forest 6'0" 9 pts 2 reb 2 assists 35% from 3, 73% from the line, 22 min/game
Bryan Greenlee 6'0" 7 pts 2.5 reb 2.2 assists 39% from 3, 68% from the line, 24 min/game
Giancarlo Rosado 6'8" 6 pts 3.5 reb 1.5 assists 0 for 0 from 3, 75% from the line, 17 min/game
Brandon Weatherspoon 6'4" 5 pts 2 reb 33% from 3, 67% from the line, 16 min/game
Jalen Gaffey 6'3" 5 pts 2.5 reb 2 assists 33% from 3, 79% from the line, 23 min/game (started at UCONN)

Memphis vs FAU
QUAD 1: 4-4 vs 2-1
QUAD 2: 9-3 vs 4-2
QUAD 3: 7-1 vs 11-0
QUAD 4: 6-0 vs 12-0

Overall, the team stats favor FAU, but you have to realize those stats came against a far inferior schedule that ours. If we give them open 3's, we could be in trouble. If we exploit our height, this could be a blow out. With Chandler or Dandridge or Kao in the game, how can they guard Williams? If we don't chase down loose balls and long rebounds, they could make some serious runs. I think it will be more like the Tulane game Saturday than the UCF game Friday, but either way, I think the Tigers kick a little owl tail Friday night.

Great info, thank you. This is going to be an interesting matchup. The way the Tigers have been playing, if they get off hot, I could see them in a runaway win. By the same token, if they play like FAU is going to roll over, it could make for a long night.

The Tigers are funny that way. We give up leads faster than anyone it seems. In the second half of the Houston game when the Coogs made their run, you could almost see the self-doubt creeping in. Like they were in our heads. A couple of key buckets righted the ship, but I was betting on a collapse during a 10-minute span of the game.

They may have an emotional edge by needing to serve notice that they will challenge for the top spot in AAC next year.

RE: Deep dive into FAU
Feed Williams. Repeatedly.
Let our superior size and length disrupt their offense.
