Best case scenario is he gets in foul trouble on the other end or nobody is hitting shots when he passes out of double teams. I imagine Michigan is going to reliably get good shots in this game though.

They have a very good freshman PG who could become their next Zavier Simpson.

They have a talented but raw freshman back-up C who didn't have a great season but is good enough to give UT fits in the post on both ends.

They bring a sharpshooter grad transfer from Duke off the bench who, like others, hasn't made a consistent impact, but still has the ability to torch teams that leave him open.

They have a few MAC quality role players and a handful of guys at the end of the bench who are complete unknowns.

When Michigan turns it on, they can hang with anyone in the country. When they don't, their floor is very low as evidenced by the CMU loss.

There has been a lot written recently about Michigan having "chemistry" issues like their Football Team had a few years ago. While they have potential pros in Dickenson, Howard, and Bufkin, they do not always seen to be on the same page. Like their Big 10 Tournament Game against Rutgers last week when they allowed a Rutger's player to rebound his own missed foul shot and score a basket, then reacted by pointing fingers in a sign that they were blaming each other for the mishap. Now I'm not saying overall talent won't matter tomorrow night, but I will give Toledo a major edge when it comes to team chemistry especially if the game is tight down the stretch!

Toledos guards are awesome. If we play with heart, Dickenson can score 30 and we win by double digits. No more team to be motivated by in the entire bracket outside of payback for Dayton.

Michigan stinks. And you clearly have the edge in coaching.

I wonder if K would try a zone against the trees tomorrow? Since they don't have much practice running out of the zone maybe not. But if they wait till they are down to decide it may be too late. Hope they have recovered mentally well enough for a good showin! Go Rockets!

Michigan maybe was the good draw for that motivation. Close by, some players know each other at least by competing in high school. They have a name. It's their motivation that might be in question, though this is Dickinson's last game isn't it? Home crowd? I'm looking forward to seeing how our guards match up, how tight their defense is against them. It's not easy to get that measure watching MAC games vs. B10 games. Different arena size, different camera angles, different competition...

RE: Hunter Dickinson
In Kyle Rowland's Blade article previewing the NIT game tonight, he mentions that Toledo's motivation might come from the fact that no team from the Big 10 wanted to schedule them for a 2022-23 Non Conference Game. In addition, the "Secret Scrimmages" that occurred before each season between Toledo and Michigan during the John Beilein era were stopped once Juwan Howard became Head Coach. RayJ Dennis was quoted as saying he is looking forward to going up against future NBA prospects Jett Howard and Kobe Bufkin.

Rockets opened +7.5 and the money has pushed the line to +6. Prognosticators have the line around a pickem... I took ML and covering today. Metrics have this far closer than the opening line.

Only if he transfers...he's still projected to be a late second round to undrafted player in the NBA draft...just as he was as a Freshman when his stock was probably the highest. He doesn't really have a position in the NBA...he's sort of like Edey...but with at least the makings of a decent three-point shot. But he's not athletic enough to play power forward and he's not anything close to the few actual centers in the NBA as a rebounder or post player.

Plus he's a head-case.

Is anyone going to start a game thread? I would, but I did last game and we lost so I don't want to jinx us.

I'll get it. Not sure how long I'll be able to watch. About ready to hit the sack now. I HATE daylight savings. Hope some of the regulars made it to the game and can chime in.

This is my concern as well. TK said earlier in the year how he didn't like scheduling Tuesday games after a Saturday night contest. Well here we are...

They missed 12 of 13 shots, and many were not bad shots. 4 minutes worth. Still ahead at the half.

This guy big and slow, can onlu make layups, nothing more. Yes he can score inside and until we get someone his size, we will have a problem guarding him.

I believe he said he didn't like Tuesday night games (when MAC switched to Tues instead of Wed games) because he like giving his staff Sundays off (or make Sunday a shorter day) so they can spend time with their families, but with games on Tuesdays he couldn't give them Sunday off. It has nothing to do with rest. Saturday to Tuesday is the same as Wednesday to Saturday, and he has not problem with Saturday games..
