RE: 8 seeds
We all know that Coach Hardaway was not happy about being a 9 seed last year. And now for the committee to do the same thing this tournament is a bit of a slap, IMO. I know he has to be upset again. So yeah, we have to play and beat the best to be the best, but we all know we would rather go through a #3 than a #1.

Also, Kentucky, Michigan State? And Arkansas? All getting a better/same seed is ridiculous.

Yep, I agree with this. If I look at our bracket I can see a reasonable scenario for how we could win & advance at each level & an equal argument for how we could get beat.

Hoping we don’t suffer any bad karma vs FAU for how some have tried to minimize their success this season & in general some of the negativity to them & the other new teams joining the AAC.

RE: 8 seeds
Living in Izzo's hometown I am careful with any anti-Michigan State chatter, but their seed - like a few others - is head-scratching. Seems like the Big Ten fails in every tourney, and still get rewarded. IF we see Purdue I believe they'll see a team unlike any they've seen thus far. I am curious to see that monster run the floor in a game with the Tigers.

Florida Atlantic is an impressive looking team, 31-3 is a remarkable season.

I hope this apparently level up we had in the conf tourney carries over, we're going to need it right out of the gate.

RE: 8 seeds
Can someone name a team that was an 8 seed who happened to beat the #1 team in the nation by 10 points on selection Sunday? Any other 8 seed out there in history who played the #1 team in the nation and the #1 tournament seed a total of 4 games for a total deficit of 3 points?

I'm actually a little more worried about FAU, due to the unknown, than I am about Purdue.

The whole game there's just this massive GIANT standing under the rim, and he doesn't really get in foul trouble. He's 7-4 285 and may be the best player in the country, probably the single most unstoppable.

so let him have 40 points and shut down the rest of the team.

Run him to death

Just need to get Lurch to run up and down the court a few times and ole Stretch will be huffing and puffing on the pine.
