RE: A-State Spring Roster With Commits , Additions and Subtractions
Little easier format than the one in my previous post below, but I'm wanting to see how their roster evolves from 2022 to 2023, and this is a nice place to post it and then find it.

Hard to know if a position group might be better or worse from one season to the next with just a current roster, without knowing what players they lost and added.

Looking at their roster going into spring they are a little better overall on paper than last year IMO , but the next round of Portal activity could be a game changer for any team, so nothing is etched in stone.

RE: A-State Spring Roster With Commits , Additions and Subtractions
Posted this on the Razorback site I moderate:

Of course with another Portal Window looming before next fall, Spring Practice has become much more important to players-both on current rosters and already in the Portal.

Can't really say Spring Practice is a tryout for next years team for a lot of players, but it is.

With the demise of the 25 rule, and another portal window looming, coaches have a lot of discretion as far as making late roster management decisions. Most will sit down with players after spring practice and let them know where they stand and many player will not like what they are hearing.

Using Arkansas as an example- because I can monitor what happens here, of what is expected to happen at a lot of schools , they have brought in some monster talent through the Portal, and while their coaches are saying it will be an even playing field, these players talent says otherwise and Portal additions are expected to contribute immediately.

Some current roster players will probably not like the upgraded competition that comes when a monster enters their room, and some talented but impatient players will likely hit the Portal.

Last time I looked their were around 500 P5 players still left in the Portal and that number is expected to increase considerably this May. Schools like A-State have made it clear they will make room for some of them.
