Big opening conference series this weekend at Plumeri. Game 1 tomorrow at 3pm.

Charleston (9-3) comes in on an 8 game winning streak. The win streak includes two wins over Michigan State and last game, 2-1 over Longwood.

Tribe comes in 7-6, last game a 7-3 loss at #17 Virginia.

Tribe lose 2-1. Just loved throwing away an out by sacrificing in the bottom of the ninth.

Game 2
Tied up 1-1 in 3rd

Dropped game 2, 2-1.

Tribe up 5-2 in the 5th. We went up 5-1 in the 4th on a 2-run HR by Williamson. So naturally in the top half of the 5th CofC loads the bases on 3 straight walks and, after a pitching change, then scores a run on a FC. So currently 2 outs and men on first and second for Charleston.

Then another batter walked to load the bases and then the count went to 3-2....and then a strikeout! So it is 5-2 going into the bottom of the 5th.

Wouldn't mind if that rain showed up now. :) That would balance out the bad one-run luck from the first two games.

Final 12-3 Tribe. Very important win because it shows the Tribe that they are as good as Charleston and, just as important, it shows it to Charleston too.

What I liked about the series was that we gave up six earned runs in three games. Our team ERA is 3.10 after 16 games. Pitching is always ahead of hitting when it's cold. If we keep this up, we're going to be good again this season.
