With BG’s Huger Out…
Who’s next to get the axe?
Who’s next to get hired away?
Any team that makes the dance and wins a game will likely lose a coach.

Feel bad for Huger. A couple years back, he was one win from maybe a decade of job security if he ended BG’s drought. Last question is what direction does BG go for a new hire?

Anything but a former player would be an improvement. 03-wink

Maybe we should start posting about stuff like this on the Bowling Green board here. It might be nice to try to get that place going.

As far as Huger's replacement: No idea really. But I don't see a former player as an automatic negative. We shouldn't get tunnel vision about picking a Bowling Green guy (or gal) but if two people are close, I don't have a problem picking the former Falcon.

It was a real bummer to see this not work out for Huger. He obviously wanted to succeed for his alma mater. That did make the situation tougher.

But Division I men's basketball is a business.

Meh...at least he's shown some improvement...but yeah, if he does not improve further this year, he should probably go.

The hockey coach needs to go next though...he's stagnated the program since he was hired.

The trend in hockey is not good. This was a program within an eyelash of the NCAA tournament, and it seems to be regressing.

I wonder how long Eigner has on his contract. I also wonder how long Bergeron has on his. (Would he come back?)

You might be able to get one of several Kent State former players who are ready.

Ended up hiring Southern Utah coach with Midwest ties.

Actually looks like a good hire for BG

I saw they're in talks and working on a contract, but is that official? It would be a really great hire BGSU.

He's from Fowler, MI which is a tiny town northwest of Lansing, MI. So it will be nice for him to get back close to home.

I like how quickly Bowling Green's athletic director seems to be moving on a new coach. He has had time to think this move though, and he seems to have taken advantage.

He graduated from CMU, but never did any coaching in the MAC, so not really sure if that qualifies for MAC experience...LOL

But he should at least understand the league being from mid-Michigan.

We'll know in a couple years how solid he is...but every BG fan seems to be happy with the hire which is a nice accomplishment for a new AD.

I'm impressed by the shoestring budget he was likely on at Southern Utah. He'll have more resources in Bowling Green. It's exciting to think what he could do with a little more financial support.

Nate Thurmond and Howie Komives aren't walking through that door.
