I find it ironic that fans of certain schools who don't hide the fact that their version of NIL is little more than bag men buying recruits... those are the very ones who want to acuse Miami of wrongdoing when, as far as I can tell, the "U" has one of the few NIL setups that does it right, as it was intended to be.

Bottom Line: Big Football-Factory public schools don't like it when a small private school kicks their tails.

JMO though

TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF

Funny, I had agreed to renew the Athletic for $9.99 a year when I got news that they'd fired the VT beat reporter Andy Bitter. I cancelled my new subscription before it started. Without Bitter, it's not even worth $10 a year.

RE: Ruiz to Sue NCAA
I think Ruiz should take the position that 'yes' he is a booster and should still have the right to hire students, with valuable NIL, to advertise his product and company even if they go to a school that he is a booster. It is an unfair disadvantage for those students to not be able to take NIL money from him because he is a booster at their school. I bet he could win and get the NCAA out of it entirely.

The NCAA is absolutely stupid to go after Ruiz and Miami on this. They KNOW who the real cheaters are, but apparently they think they can bully Miami? We'll see, I guess...
