They already have signed 2 high school players for the 2023-24 season. My guess with Davis now leaving they would try a JUCO or transfer center for next year also. Sometimes if STF thinks it’s best for the program you just pull the plug when you have to-like he did with Monty- and worry about recruiting after the new coach takes over. Any new head coach is gonna have their own contacts/recruiting inroads.

I meant that you would kill recruiting for 24-25 if she comes back next year as a lame duck.
Ok although I don’t believe that’s totally true but if you use that as an excuse when could you ever dismiss a coach? Your always gonna have that next recruiting class to worry about and like I said a new coach has their own inroads into recruiting. Just my opinion but of all the things STF will consider in whether to renew/extend her contract that won’t rank that high.

She is not helping herself. I think STF was giving the Coach a lifeline by entering the WBB in this tournament. I was hoping she would take advantage of the opportunity.

You said what I've been thinking since NIU got into the WBI. What for, and at what cost?

The one good thing is that A'Jah Davis now has 1,031 rebounds, making her #2 all-time at NIU and giving her a boost of sorts if she goes overseas, as some have suggested she might.

Other than that, what did NIU gain from this? A little extra practice for returning players? How much did NIU pay for this, if anything?

Huskies are now 16-16 going into today's 11 a.m. game vs UIC. I am not impressed, for one, but of course I hope the Huskies win. Biggest fear is another serious injury.

One more season under contract (sans extension). Nothing less than a run up the WNIT ladder or an NCAA tournament bid would keep LC from becoming the next Montgomery or Gooden ... gone after the last year of the contract.

Yes to go 0-3 in the WBI to finish the season under .500 is very disappointing. I’ve made my feelings very clearly know already so not much to do now except sit back and see how next year goes and what STF decides as to what is best for the program. Football practice starts in a little over 4 months. Go Huskies!

More Sean T Frazier bumbling. NIU needs someone new to give the AD position a shot ASAP. Frazier went stale a while back, now just spinning his wheels collecting his paycheck.
