MyBB Next Notre Dame Coach?
Big time job opening, thoughts?

My instincts are telling me Chris Collins, because this conference can’t seem to have enough Dookies 03-puke

Amen. He should definitely be an ACC coach. It’s a no brainer if he’s interested.

That would be a quick turnaround, but an excellent hire.

Ehh, I think they could have done better than a guy that won a single tournament game.

TAMING OF THE SHREW

Very good hire. Happy for Notre Dame. They don't mind spending big money unlike most ACC schools.

"Penn State reportedly offered Shrewsberry a new contract which would have more than doubled his salary from this season, but Notre Dame trumped it with a seven-year deal reportedly worth in excess of $4 million per season, plus a willingness to pay Shrewsberry’s Penn State buyout of $4 million."

That's a pretty attractive offer. Impressive move by ND.

Shrewsberry is the real winner here considering he has a 37-31 overall record and never finished above .500 in conference play. I guess they think he's the next Brad Stevens. 07-coffee3

He’s from Indiana. PSU basketball has always struggled to get top flight coaches and players…the campus is not close to a big city, and there are a lot more convenient alternatives for stars.

ND definitely knew how to go after the attractive candidate.

I think Notre Dame is one of the best jobs in the ACC—like win a title good job—but Brey was never going to win the whole thing. I really think they should have waited and gone after McDermott. That said, I hope Shrewsberry does well.

As an aside, the last time they went after a Fordham coach with a 25+ win season they landed Digger Phelps. 07-coffee3
