RE: mid week baseball … 3.7 and 3.8 …
Congratulations to ULM, Marshall, JMU, GSU, ODU, and USA on the wins today, and a special shout out to the Chanticleers for taking down a Top 5 team!

Wake played absolutely nobody prior to Coastal. Glad they got a dose of reality. If you play cupcakes, you'll get beat by the first real team you play.

You mean their 190th rated SoS wasn't good? LoL Thing is we need them to get hot again so it helps our RPI/SOS.

Wake is a good team but them being 13-1 is not reflective of how good they are. Their best wins are a smoking of an Illinois team that beat up a bit on USM. Definitely some ACC hype behind them though. We get to matchup against Illinois this weekend.

Baseball is funny.
We snuck out a W in 10 innings against a new Atlantic Sun D1 school, Queens University (Charlotte) last night at an MiLB stadium in Kannapolis, NC.
Queens' starting pitcher threw 129 pitches through 8.2 innings, and kept us down 2-1 for the majority of the game. We tied it in the 9th, and got hot and opened it up in the 10th against the new pitcher.
Would have been a hosting disaster to lose to them.

I was following that one. Didn't look good for a while but you found a way to win. That's all that matters at the end of the day. That's what good teams do.
Did Queens throw their ace? That's pretty good duration out of a midweek game.

Don't think he was their ace. But he played like one.
From pregame notes:
" Queens is starting RHP Daniel Bagwell.
Has already pitched in six games this season and gone 15 innings with 21 hits allowed. 15 Ks against 7 BB, 6 ERA.
2022: Pitched in 19 games with two starts...Posted an 0-1 record with a 4.20 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP with 45 strikeouts and three saves... Named 2021-22 Queens Athletics Male Comeback Player of the Year"

Holy crap! They are absolutely going to destroy that kids arm if that kind of pitch count continues.

No kidding. I'm thinking it was just a one off where he was pitching lights out against #12 in the nation.

I sure hope that's the case. I've seen guys that get into a groove and the stars align and the moon is up Venus' butt or something like that. If it's a one off situation I don't see where that would be a huge issue. That said, I've see coaches more than a few coaches ride their top pitchers right into the ground because wins are more important to their job security.
