The MW and WAC are NOT going to disappear either.
All will re-load the best they can and continue on.
With all the impending conference shuffling, if NMSU was given the choice of going to the MWC, I would still choose for NMSU to remain in C-USA. I feel there are less schools regionally for the MWC to pull from to replenish it numbers than the regions C-USA is mostly based in now. In my opinion, C-USA has more future membership options for its survival than the MWC. NMSU got left in the lurch twice when Big West football and WAC football disbanded. With many of the same schools now in the MWC, I just don't want NMSU to be put in the same situation a third time if they were asked to join the MWC.

You need to improve your reading skills. I mentioned SEATTLE in the original post. SEATTLE is a WAC school....for now.
My mistake. One WAC school mentioned once in passing. You got me.

Very good point. With most of the MWC seemingly trying to find a way into the P12/B12, NMSU likely is more stable in CUSA. Not sure who MWC looks to if they need to replenish. Obviously Big Sky but how much interest do their top teams really have in FBS? Then what? Go after WAC schools?

Which conference, MWC or CUSA, makes the most money? If it’s MW, does this change your choice? What would NMSU Leadership choose?

You know what, I hadn't thought of it from this angle. This is a potential angle to cell MWC teams to come into CUSA if needed. I like CUSA, and while I understand the historical geographical challenges of it, this might highlight a benefit of being as spread out as we are.
GO AGGIES!!!

An April Fools joke with Colorado Mesa or CSU-Pueblo to FCS moving up would be a good one..

No, he doesn’t. But the state of Colorado could use another D1 school. I think CSU-Pueblo would be a good fit for what the WAC FCS is trying to accomplish, but I guess budget or something.
