I think for NIT terms it's meaningless- I think Dayton would get into the NIT if they lose.

Toledo has no chance at an at-large.

Quite, a MAC team is not going to the Dance with the 82nd highest NET.

Indeed, by the mid-point of this season, Kent State needed to run the conference to have a shot of being in the mix for an at-large. A Q4 loss and then a Q3 loss away in conference play took that possibility off the board, leaving Kent State in the high 50's, even with the (neutral court) MAC final counting as a second Q2 win. Rather, if Toledo had won, Kent State would have been looking at where their NIT seeding was going to end up.

I can't call any of the teams "bid stealers." Let's be honest, the NIT struggles to get 20 quality at-large schools. And the reason they kick the reveal back until 10pm ET is because they have to see who will accept and who wont, and where they can find a replacements, and who is willing to host games.

Where a team that wants to go to the NIT is pushed aside by a team that has a substantially lower NET, due to the regular season champions rule, I can see where the term can come into use ...

... but then when I see the Buckeyes are lobbying for an NIT bid on the back of a losing season but a three game Big Ten tournament run, it tilts me back in favor of the regular season champions rule.

On the plus side Rutgers, Michigan and Wisconsin say they are accepting NIT bids. That will hold others in.

Will you be heading to Albany to party like it's 2002 when the Golden Flashes knock off the Hoosiers?

They moved the NIT show back because the women get time now on Sunday at 8pm

Sadly, Spring Break is over at the University of South Carolina. I'll have to cheer from afar.
