IMHO FOX network has thoroughly screwed the PAC (& college FB in general ) by funding the USCLA move to B1G & then not bidding on PAC creating its instability.
It’s a done deal as soon as Oregon and Washington got to the Big Ten.

Folks inside the Big 12 believe they’ll land Pac-12 schools as soon as this month.
PAC-12 Commissioner Kliavkoff is facing pressure to deliver a new media rights deal to his members by the end of the month. If the dollar figures or the details are underwhelming, March may be the moment when the Big 12 finally strikes. Sources briefed on the discussions say the conference has been in recent contact with the so-called Four Corners schools — Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah — which has renewed optimism that convincing them to join is possible.
Brett Yormark has eyed westward expansion since the day he was hired as the Big 12’s new commissioner last summer. Yormark has never been shy about his interest in expanding the Big 12 into the “fourth time zone” to establish a truly national conference and boost the value of his league’s media rights. The arrival of BYU this summer will get the Big 12 into the Mountain Time Zone. Yormark wants more, though he has always said any additions need to be additive and not dilutive.

I don’t think they are going to B1G until B1G next tv contract in 2030 or so or after the top ACC teams are poached. If they were coming for this contract they would have been added same time as USCLA.
Even then they are not guaranteed, Stanford has at least as strong a case as them for B1G, & one could argue same for Co, AZ, & even KS depending on B1G’s priorities at expansion time. Will it be TV market like USCLA or continuous AAU footprint like previous expansions?

The speculators now have Tulane and maybe Rice going to the PAC.
People have too much time on their hands the week before the tourney.

Ike will tell all, Tulane and SMU will relocate before TIGERNATION, however, Ike’s sources tell Ike things will move in our direction
Most likely the ACC but, there is another option

the boys drinking club down the alley say the University of Louisiana and Georgia State University are joining the SEC; and Temple is joining the MAC. Fla St, Fla, Miami, Fla Atlantic, So Fla, UCF, Fla International, and So Ala are forming the peninsula conference.

Rice will never be competitive and never draw a crowd or ratings in Houston.
Tulane may be at the beginning of a roll in football. They brought about 30,000 to the Cotton Bowl.
If the PAC wants academics there they are. If they want competition they are barking up the wrong trees.

If Tulane is actually being considered for a PAC invite, does that tell us anything about competing for titles? Sure Tulane had the academic rep but I rarely heard them mentioned until they started winning last season. And since we don't have that level of academic rep (despite R1), it places an even greater premium on our winning at a high level to gain & maintain consideration.

Return to the old METRO concept ??
SEC grabs Florida State, North Carolina, Virginia and Clemson ...
New ACC/AAC forms ... Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Duke, NC State, Miami, Memphis, Tulane, Tulsa, Temple, etc (all Metropolitan schools)
Just thinking out loud ....

Looks like you’ve been following Ike’s information, sounds good but, Ike believes UNC and UVA will be BIG bound and Miami to the
sec. Interesting times ahead for TIGERNATION, we must patient but, Ike’s hearing good things from the STREET

In the last 20 years....
Tulane football has played in 6 bowl games and 2 seasons over 8 wins. Tulane basketball has 0 NCAA tournaments.
Memphis has 13 bowl games, 9 seasons of 8 or more football wins, and 12 NCAA basketball tournaments.
Memphis > Tulane and it's not even close.

I'm not the one to convince but Tulane is receiving consideration by the PAC & there is no mention of Memphis. I'm simply saying we must win big to gain & maintain football prominence. We can't match Tulane's academic rep, our way to a better conference is winning.
