I liked the 2019-2020 format best. I dont understand why we cant get back to that.

We want our conference and the tourney to produce a team that can go far in the dance. That usually means getting a good seeding in the tourney.

and it is true if you just win, brackets and such don't mean much.

So I could be wrong but one reason why we have bye days is because the Pensacola arena can only have 4 games per day, and we have both the Men's and Women's basketball tournament at the same time. What that means is that either the mens and womens teams have to share in the early rounds (and even then if we use a traditional bracket then there would still be bye days), or mens and womens each get a day to themselves for the first few rounds.

One way to prevent rest days while giving the tops seeds the best possible chance would be a bracket like below for both the women's and men's championships. This means that each day there are 2 men's and 2 women's games all the way up until championships on Monday. But I have a feeling that some teams would not be super big fans of this arrangement.

Honest question: has ULM contributed ANYTHING to the SBC in football, basketball and baseball?

Not that it's relevant to the topic, in football ULM beat Alabama during Saban's first year (2007) and #8 Arkansas (2012). Plus a few more P5 wins for the SBC list.

If my memory is correct, I believe about a year ago or so somebody pointed out that we have more P5 wins than anyone in the conference. I am not going back to check the records but even if it's not, we are certainly in the discussion. Furthermore, while we may not factor in too much in the championship discussion, we certainly have an affect on it. Imagine what kind of damage we could do to you guys if we had any sort of competent leadership over the last 30 years.

I actually like that. It rewards the regular season, but you are right teams will be against that primarily due to the uneven schedule.

Honest question, what does that have to do with anything in this thread?

Hurt feelings.

Nope. Just funny that’s everyone’s retort when I question them. My fandom on ULM has nothing to do with the point at hand and never does. I could change my user name and points remain. Such simple-mindedness.

For sure. That is the reason, you hurt someone's feelings.

My mistake, I misread your statement.
