Baseball Weekend "Series" - the Central Virginia Classic
This weekend, we host West Virginia on Friday, Fairfield on Saturday, and Canisius on Sunday.

It's kind of a neat scheduling agreement, all 3 of our opponents are playing us, Richmond, and VCU on various days. On Canisius's website it's referred to as the Central Virginia Classic. Nowhere else I've seen uses that name, but I kinda like it, so we're rolling with it as the thread title.

West Virginia is sitting at 4-3, with their main series being against Georgia Southern and Arizona (they also lost 0-6 in an exhibition game against the Diamondbacks Spring Training squad).

Fairfield is 3-3, going 2-1 in a series against George Washington.

Canisius is 2-2, they played a hodgepodge of opponents at a tournament in Charleston.

The Mountaineers 4-3 record, which included a series against Arizona in Tucson, does not include their last game. On Sunday according to their site, they lost 6-0 to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Surely it was an exhibition game but not a bad showing.

Oops: just noted you mentioned TD!

That's a real shame. I always enjoy playing the Mountaineers in any sport

What happened to Carter Lovasz today? He pitched 2 innings, gave up 6 hits, 7 runs (6 earned), 2 wild pitches, 2 HBP, 3 walks, only 1 strikeout, and lost. Anybody can have a bad day; hopefully this one will tide him over for awhile.

The Tribe lost 8-4 to Fairfield. Play Canisius tomorrow.
