They use to be so strong and a good game. They are worthy but know some of his figures are off. We all know the capacity of McGuirk is not 21,430. Yes it could be a little higher with the patio and Hunt Hospitality suite, but officially we are still at 17k. That is off by a lot. Never the less still worth and yes a bit loose. Let's see when there is anything from U Del officially or a reporter leading the charge and good for him. It has to start somewhere.

I'm not really sure what this opinion piece has to do with MAC sports, but the time for them to decide to move up would have needed to come a few months ago. You know when C-USA was scrambling and was willing to accept anyone with a pulse as a full-time member.

Unless you have deep pockets, like BYU or Liberty, it's tough to survive as and FBS independent. Even those two schools are joining conferences now.

They must have some very expensive student fees for athletics to have a $48 million operating budget for an enrollment of 21,600 full-time students.

I hope this doesn't trigger an all out MAC expansion thread, but I long favored adding James Madison and another school TBD. Delaware?

The article suggest that 'we need a dance partner' to go to FBS.

And we need Delaware Blue Hens and Howard Bison playing on the football field for reasons which should be obvious (Hint: first president from Delaware and first VP from Howard).

That'd probably be because if they decided to pursue FBS, the MAC is one of the conferences they would call to see if there was any interest.

Delaware might be a little late to the party. Delaware, JMU, ODU and UMass would fit great in the same conference. That ship sailed a while ago. UMass and Delaware combo might work, if UMass brings all sports.
