Bears need Golladay
Kenny Golladay just got released. He would make a great weapon for Justin Fields on the Chicago Bears.

Technically, he will not be released until March 15, which is the first day of the new NFL year.

Given his injury history and lack of production, I would proceed very cautiously. His last two years with the Giants were a complete disaster. Plenty of due diligence would be required first.

Kenny needs the Bears a lot more than they need him. He's probably hanging on by a thread. I agree with Huskie----due diligence needed. He's certainly never been the NIU version at that next level.

If the Bears need Golladay, then their problems are much worse than anyone ever could have imagined.

How quick people forget….. He was a rising Star until Detroit shipped out Matthew Stafford. He never adjusted well with the Giants, but his career is salvageable in the right situation. Yes the Bears do have big problems. That’s why they have the #1 pick.

If Mooney is your #1 WR you know you don't have much wide receiver depth.

It just means they were well managed to properly tank. I'm sure they'll add a real #1 going forward if they're trying to win, but couldn't hurt to also put a league minimum flier on Golladay to add him to the room.

I would highly doubt a guy coming off of a 4 year/$72M contract is going to play for league minimum……Giants had to pay him $4.5M in order to release him.

He'll turn 30 this coming season. He has a history of injuries. He dropped almost as many passes as he caught last year, and even when injuries hit the Giants turned practice squad guys over him. League minimum or close to it might be the only offer he receives until he can prove he can still produce. At most, the next contract offer he gets is likely to be extremely incentive dependent.

We got to remove our personal biases on this guy. I loved him as a Huskie. And he looked damn good as a Lion to start. But the past three years have showed less than serviceable results.

All I’m saying is that you can get him now for a good deal. Bears have nothing to lose.

Somebody is going to take a chance on him. I would love it to be the Bears. I'm not sure how his contract works?? He hasn't been the same since he had groin surgery. But I believe he lead the league in receiving TD's in 2019, when he was with the Lions. It would be cool to see him find his form with his hometown, BEARS.

This is wrong. I believe at Detroit he led the league in touchdowns or something. I don't remember. But there is a reason he got a lot of money to go to NY.

Now, can he come back from injury? Different story, but come on. The kid was great in Detroit!

He was a great at Detroit. Not a long lifespan in the NFL, he earned it.

He's on the downside of career. Leauge minimum contract or no more than that plus 1.5 mill. No guarntee. I still get piss** when my most memorable play of him was countless times being open and the ball thrown short 6-10 yards short. Then he would lookback as WT___

How many players get picked up again after a prison stay?

He is still worth millions even if he does not play again? Wonder what his net is currently.

Sam Hurd was in prison, NOT Kenny Golladay.

Lions have paid Golladay $40.5M over the past two seasons.

Hah, pre-coffee dumb-ass question. Grazie.

Golladay will be so relieved to hear the good news.

Ready for Golladay's name to pop up on a facility then...

I bet Hurd would be as productive at lesser cost.

Lot less likely to get hurt. 03-lmfao

They paid him $4.5 to make him go away.. that should tell you his worth right now. Maybe it won't be the exact league minimum but it will be a very small contract if he's in the league at all.
