It's good to see another UC sport doing well (in addition to the track and field teams).
This looks like a decent field of schools UC is competing against.
DORADO, P.R. -- Four Bearcats carded under-par scores to help the squad cut six strokes off an already-impressive first day to take over first place heading into Tuesday's final round at the Dorado Beach Collegiate.
Cincinnati holds a four-stroke lead over Duke, which improved by 12 strokes in its own right to jump from third to second. Host UNC Greensboro fell from first to third, sitting 12 strokes behind the Bearcats.
Freshman Ryan Ford remains in a tie for first with an 11-under 133. Ty Gingerich (ffith) went from a 70 to a 65, which matched Ford's first round for the lowest of UC's season. He had eight birdies over a 10-hole span. Rylan Wotherspoon and William McDonald gave Cincinnati its fifth birdies of the week as well.
McDonald's 5-under 67 was a career-low, including his Arkansas stint. He is eighth to mark UC's third top-10 contender, while Sam Jean is tied for 17th and Rylan Wotherspoon is 37th.
"Another great performance by this team today," head coach Doug Martin said. "We have worked extremely hard this offseason to be prepared to compete. We continued our great execution today throughout the round. We have played the par-5s really well this week, knowing how important it would be for a successful week. It will be very important to come out fighting from the jump tomorrow."
Individually, Wyatt Plattner holds a 17th-place tie at 5-under 139.
UC ended the fall with back-to-back tournaments in which its best round was its last.
