Everyone appears to be from moderately to majorly concerned about the OL. Given that, I will be very interested to see how the OC schemes around that knowing that the B12 has been a very high scoring league the last few years and I don't see many Ws with the Bearcats scoring under 30

Forget who holds the title of OC, Scott Satterfield has run the offense everywhere he’s been. He calls all the plays.

From reading Louisville posts (even before we hired him) their biggest criticism was how fun heavy it was, including 3rd and long plays where one would assume it would be passing situations. Listening to him recently, it appears his philosophy is going to run it, they might hold us to a yard on a few plays, but that is going to result in some long runs eventually and it will even out.

If this is the case, this is why OL is paramount going forward.

That just means that for the purposes of my post, Satterfield is the OC and the point is still there... if the OL is the biggest question mark, then I hope he has a scheme -- and not just a theory -- that can compensate. He's not going to be playing in a the AAC or, with all due respect, a fairly weak ACC. UC is going to need to put up points in the 30s most games. That's a lot of running the ball. And with the pass happy attacks that are prevalent in the B12, running the ball works great if UC can stay within 7 - 12 points. Anything beyond that and the run game actually works against UC catching up from just a pure time on the clock standpoint. I still say I hope he has a scheme that can protect the QB and allow UC to score points in bunches and consistently

UC should open a new revenue stream of letting public buy in for high $$ training. Lol

RaQuan Adkins, one of the Louisville flips this cycle EE'ed and apparently put on 20lbs since he started and increased all of his lifts by 30%+. I wish I know the weird science that goes on in College weight rooms nowadays.

From my buddy's who played college football and had to pack on weight it sounds unberable, especially in those Dline/Oline positions where they try to keep it somewhat healthy. I had one friend who would dissappear in the middle of the day when we were hanging out to go drink what can only be described as a 1,000 calories of protein concentrate.

It's always been suprirsing to me how far behind so many programs are in supplying the diet and culinary demands of a full time athlete. I know a lot of college kids get away with packing on dirty gains with whatever food they can find, but you should realistically have access to as much lean food as you could desire to make that road easier. I think UC has it included in their day 1 camapaign but I'm not sure what the details are.

Oh it is a gnarly process, and certainly not natural or sustainable. Anyone who thinks these human beings could be that large naturally need only look at the NFL OLmen after they retire. Within months mpst have dropped 30-50 pounds. Hell Taylor Lewan said recently on his podcast that he is already down to 260 and he hasn't even technically retired yet.

Wait, so Landon really decided to stay in the end? That's cool. So do Luke and Amy come back to visit as fans/parents??

Coach Satterfield has said they are going to be active in the the transfer portal after spring training, specifically at WR and OT. I think we legitimately need 3-4 more WRs and 2-3 OTs. Most WR rooms have 9-12 guys, I think we are down to 5.

Hopefully, we can get a quality starter at LT in the portal. We have no proven tackles on the roster. Jones, Williams, and Greene (raw but talented) are probably decent but I don't know if I trust any of them to be high-end starters. Don't expect too much from Wilder.

I feel at least decent about our interior OL talent and depth. Kandra and Gerhardt are definitely capable starters and we have good depth with Tinsley, Glynn, and Williams capable of sliding down. Radosevich should be alright at center and we'll see what Fickell brings to the table as a depth piece.

Is he going to be sending us his castaways from Wisky?

I believe he's talking about Landon Fickell.

I completely forgot about him. Pretty cool he stuck around. My apologies for the snarky response (I couldn't resist.)
