As you should my friend. Maybe some people will keep their big suck shut next time. Great game to you all. Well played and you deserved it. Better prepared, better mentally, better coached, more disciplined. Complete game. Hat off to you.

Riley, please just shut the f*** up from now on.

Gonna defend Riley here. Marshall was #1 for a few days. Their fans should celebrate that. It's become so common these days to hate on your team and no one hardly even fights back when you could have a team with a 80% win rate and people saying they actually suck. No one says anything. It's down right refreshing to see a fan that *gasp roots for their team. Marshall is good and anyone who was even now claiming that they are still the #1 team in the conference wouldn't be out of place. I'd disagree with them, but it's not like a case can't be made for Marshall. The rankings still have Marshall slightly higher than USM after all.

Life is too short not to root and be excited for your team.

Yeah I think my main knock on this board would be that it gets pretty quick to complain about fans beating their chests. It doesn't have to be the end of the season with the championship wrapped up to get excited and celebrate what you've got going on. Marshall taking first was worth getting excited about.

There is rooting for your team and then there is telling your opponents they have no shot at winning or bragging about taking over 1st. I don't particularly like the way our team is managed, but I still want them to win. I just don't taunt fate. I did when I was younger and was humbled many times. I learned to temper expectations and take off the green glasses for a more objective viewpoint. Never stopped rooting for my team. Just don't feel the need to express that in every single thread hundreds of times. And it makes the losses that inevitably happen much easier to deal with.

JMU fans don't need to know that I hoped we kicked them in the nuts so hard they choked on their balls. And I didn't feel the need to come inform them that we had because I didn't lay that groundwork. I can just say good game and move on to the next one.

Dan D'Antoni was the basketball coach at my high school when I was there so I've got a soft spot in my heart for his success to continue at Marshall and been a fan of The Herd's program since 2014

Just out of curiosity would you say the same things about sideshowjoe's Fandom?

Marshall has been a really good BB rival since we joined CUSA. Not so much for football, where even playing every year, ODU only managed one victory. The triad of Marshall, JMU, and ODU will continue to be spirited games, which will make this conference more fun.

Boom. There goes USM. A SBC tradition as old as time.

You just keep whipping VT's ass every year and we'll give you a pass on what comes next.
