lol, the Tulsa game now lasts seven and a half months.
Oct 19 (Thu)- May 31 (Wed) 6:00 PM
I see now that the Texas game has taken over the long-play paradigm:
Sep 2 (Sat) - May 31 (Wed) 2:30 P.M. CT
at Texas
... while the Tulsa game has been shortened a bit:
Oct 19 (Thu) - Jan 1 (Mon) 6:00 PM (AAC)
at Tulsa
(from the same URL as above: https://riceowls.com/sports/football/schedule)
Is there any website proofreading?
Sure! It’s done by the Parliament.
The real question is why doesn’t the Athletics Dept. webmaster correct the mistakes we point out?
That trickles up to Chuck Pool, who is functionally nearly alone in keeping up with these things.
it's an enormous workload.
There are two others in his group, and each of them is responsible for a suite of sports (according to the current staff directory).
Many of the web pages from athletics include a link to correct typos.
Chuck has been pretty quick to fix the things that I've reported.
The linked page doesn't have one of the typo report links.
I don't see what you're reporting, but it may only be available by clicking on the "add to calendar" button, which I'm not about to do.

It looks like it's fixed now. Yay!!!
I agree that Chuck and his team have an enormous workload ... and do a great job keeping us fans (and media) fed with tons of info.

Both of them look correct to me now.

RE: 2023 football schedule released
The Rice SID--from Bill Whitmore to Bill Cousins to Chuck Pool--has always been faced with a monumental task with totally insufficient resources. I've seen all three up close, and all three have done truly Herculean work with minimal to non-existent resources. And none have gotten the credit they deserved.

This long-play paradigm very nearly resulted in a double-sided long-play record…
Which would have surely been one for the *record* books!

Didn’t want to start a new thread, but the Lending Tree Bowl vs Southern Miss is currently on ESPNU
Maybe there will be a better result this time around

We can't even play in that game. Whoever put it together thought that the MAC won't have enough bowl eligible teams and that we're still in C-USA. The AAC guaranteed bowls are the Military, Hawaii, and Fenway Bowls, and we'll also get at least four out of the Armed Forces, Birmingham, Frisco, Cure, Boca Raton, Gasparilla, First Responder, Myrtle Beach, and New Mexico.
I just opened the link, and I'm shocked to see McMurphy put his name on it. He's usually not that sloppy. Does he have some long odds on us getting in at 5-7 again but somehow being the favorites?

The way conference realignment is going, we could be back in CUSA in three months
In all seriousness, I saw UTSA, Memphis, FAU, UNT, SMU, Rice and Tulane as the bowl teams from the AAC, but maybe I missed one. Those are teams #1-#5, #7 and #12 in the preseason media poll...will let you all guess which one we are. ( https://www.cbssports.com/college-footba...ht-behind/)
We have a tough conference schedule...we play five of the top six in that poll, albeit four of those are at home.

We can play in that game, but not as a 6 win qualifier. Looks like another academic qualifier prediction.
