AAC schedule released today 21Feb2023
Looking forward to how it shapes put and travel plans.
Anyone have any teams on their list that they just gotta visit the stadium for a game?

RE: AAC schedule released today 21Feb2023
I didn't want to make a separate thread for this so I'll add it in here to discuss.
https://collegefootballnews.com/2023/02/...m-analysis
Quote:75 UAB
2018-2022 Attendance Average: 21,939.40
5-Year Filled Stadium Capacity 46.58%
2022 Average Attendance: 23,058
2022 Filled Stadium Capacity 48.96%
Over 5 years, we are 1st in CUSA and we would be 4th in new AAC.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but this should shut people up about UAB attendance. Hopefully the new AAC schedule increases attendance and we stay in top 3 attendance in AAC.
I'm stoked about the revival of The Battle for the Bones and being back with our peers.

Still need to grow that base considerably. We need that average to be the actual butts in seats baseline for the lowest game. The difference that would make financially would be pretty huge. We need to add 5k more season ticket holders and an additional 5k single game each week. We can get there.

Yes, the tickets sold might bring the revenue--which no doubt is needed--but it would be nice to actually get most of those people to attend (and even stay for four quarters). That, in turn, would make it a much better home atmosphere, would generate more excitement, which would inevitably lead to more people wanting to be there.

Dilfer’s offense will put Butts in seats if it works. It’s very hard to market a fun game for non fans to come to when we ran the ball so much. Great for winning games but not the most entertaining

I've never bought this argument that people will come to watch if you're airing it out, but won't come to watch if you're running the ball.
I think historical evidence (for both football and basketball) supports the fact that the primary determinant of UAB attendance is the opponent. The secondary determinants are UAB having a winning record and weather
How many people last year really said "I would go to the game, but they don't throw the ball enough"? Of all the people I tried to get to come to games through the years, I've never once heard that as an excuse

at Navy on Veteran's Day. Too bad that's not a home game to coincide with the National Veteran's Day Parade.

Interesting that there are no AAC rivalry games during the typical rivalry week.

Memphis at home on my birthday. Very nice.
Of course, last year we moved a game to Friday night, at WKU, just for my birthday, and that trip didn't work out so well.
Let's go get them bones!

The Blue Angels will be available for the pregame flyover. Their show season ends the week before.
