Baseball vs Richmond
Home opener this afternoon. Spiders are 0-3 after getting shellacked in a 3 game series at Alabama. They lost each game by 10 or more runs and scored a total of 4 runs combined in the three games.

RE: Baseball vs Richmond
Any chance of using a season-long baseball thread instead of a separate thread for every series? There is already such a thread called "2023 Baseball Season". We use separate threads for individual basketball games but there are a lot more posts, per game, for basketball. Just a suggestion before we get too deep into the season.

Personally, I'd rather have a thread for each series, because it helps me keep up with the season. We don't have to pay by the thread. :)

Well, it does make it harder to find things in two ways:

1. More threads make it harder, longer, and more laborious finding a thread that is lower on page one or, heaven forbid, has fallen to page two or lower.

2. Having all the posts in one thread make it easier looking at previous comments that were posted for previous series. For example, at mid-season and then again at season's-end either myself or Tribe32 may want to look at previous posts about how McRae uses his pitching staff. Having individual threads per series will make it a lot harder to access unless we happen to remember exactly which series we had the conversation about.

I can see some series having only two or three posts, especially if the season goes south quickly.

Search is free and easy: https://csnbbs.com/search.php

If it was part of a season thread, I wouldn't have known we were playing Richmond today. It would have looked like someone was just commenting on baseball.

SB, how did we score the 6?

Will have to check. I saw we got run 7 in the 5th on a double and RBI single.

Agree on having a thread per game or series.

This is our only game vs Richmond this year.

Tribe wins 8-2! Always sweet against Richmond.

We had a 6 run 2nd inning which was fueled by a wild pitch and several Spider errors.

Tribe goes to 2-2.
UR drops to 0-4.

RE: Baseball vs Richmond
Maybe we could do a weekly thread? The one-off midweek games probably won't get a lot of traction, but that way it's still easy to find the most recent games.

Either way, we beat the Ticks 8-2.

Richmond got 9 hits, but we were able to get the outs when it mattered.

Beat ODU tomorrow! Monarchs are 3-1, after shellacking VMI today and taking their opening series with St. John's.

Is Assaf Lowengart hurt? Removed from the opening day game and he hasn’t played since.

He made the official roster for the Israel National Team playing in the World Baseball Classic in March. Pool play for them starts Mar. 11th in Miami, with the Championship game on Mar. 21st. Just speculation on my part, but imagine we have lost him for the next month until that's over. A lot of MLB players in that. Far more valuable experience playing in that than our pre-conference schedule (except for missing the Charleston series.) Will only help us in conference play.

Yes I know about that; it just seemed weird to make the trip to Mercer for only one game before heading out. Teams for Pool D don’t arrive in FL until March 6th.

This academic year we have beaten UR in football, MBB and baseball, along with a victory in a women’s soccer exhibition. Only a loss in WBB is there to blemish our record in these major sports.

Not to bring the vibes down, but they beat us in lacrosse and field hockey. None of those were for the CAA Championship, though 05-stirthepot

I quit my research while I was still in a happy place. I have been a Tribe fan long enough to know to quit while I’m ahead.

Lowengart indeed got injured and is no longer able to participate for Team Israel.
