Spring Ball Predictions + Discussion
Getting pumped for spring ball. I'm excited to see competition on the OL with Cox leaving and Zschernitz being injured. Hearing that Seth Thompson might be making a case to be that 6th or 7th on the OL.

Spring Ball Predictions + Discussion
Absolutely nothing excites me about practices anymore. Everyone looks like world beaters in practice. I will save any judgements, hopes, or concerns until September when the season starts against real competition.

RE: Spring Ball Predictions + Discussion
A question for the scheduling experts on this board: When will the full football schedule be released? I don't need to know times, just dates. My wife is filling in for some people at work on Saturdays in October, and she is not committing until we know when the games are. Thanks.

Only non-conference dates so far. But includes all the teams we play including designating home and away.

When I called for my season tickets I was told the schedule would be released by the end of February

Thanks. It's those conference dates I need, and I know the MAC takes their time with it.

I thought Jordan White showed some promise & progress in the secondary last year. Expect him to see more playing time if not starting.

Nick Alvarado is going to be somewhere. He played in a few games towards the end of the season. Jumps out at you on film. Kids a baller.

So many angles to watch this Spring, but I mostly want to see a healthy Lombardi and Rudolph and indications they are ready to be the players they were previous to injury. The RB room has me incredibly excited to see.

Rudolph tore his ACL, what, 7 months ago? Would think it’s very doubtful he participates in spring ball

RE: Spring Ball Predictions + Discussion
That depth chart seems off.
Rudolph is probably not on the field in pads until late summer. Travis probably isn't starting either. I think the transfer Davis Patterson starts out there. Big kid who can catch, we haven't had size that can catch in a while.
TE Grayson Barnes is going to play a bunch, probably start once Joiner gets hurt again.
The OL is going to be a combination of guys you listed - most likely.
On defense ripperada probably isn't a the guy at DE. Davis/Williams/Crowell will "likely" battle that one out.
Linebackers, my best guess if you asked me right this second: Rayner/Jackson (transfer)/ Alvarado. The trio is a little bit light, but if it keeps the *huskie* off the field, go for it.
Corners: Shad Dabney is probably one. The other is a bit of a mystery, Armegatcher/McGarrell/Byrd/Knighten are in the mix. With Dabney at one corner Hammock would have to fight every thing he believes in on defense to start another sub 6' corner.
Safety: Robertson (transfer) and someone. I would say any Safety on the roster has a shot at being a starter. They were all terrible in their own ways - so a chance to show who grew the most. Maybe even Rolle/Banner have a shot. Big kids who can move and with this season *needing* to be better I think it's wide open. (If I had my pick I would start with White - and go from there. He seemed fast enough. I don't know about the Freshman...also if Lafayette is another year recovered maybe he can run again?)

If Barnes is indeed legit and Joiner can stay healthy(the odds of both of these isn’t great) I would like to see Tewes at FB some. That dude is a truck to tackle and can obviously catch out of the backfield. He could pancake safeties and even LBs as lead blocker and be a sure thing on 4th and 1. There’s far more positions to worry about but last year this offense really missed Ratdog and Bostad/Lampe don’t bring too much.

Did we can our marketing team? There’s almost no NIU content in social media compared to this time last year. No notes from the Fatty’s get together or anything.

Someone did say the lady who led it all left us recently. I looked her up and saw she left for Marshall.

So, the marketing team consisted of one lady who left? That makes sense and is about par for the course.
