Men's sports - might get more press. But our Women's teams are so strong. Women's sports, got hit the worst by the conference/sub-division move. It is awesome to have the Women's sports shine - well done!

The game was REALLY good, from an entertainment perspective. ODU coach was…interesting. Seemed to celebrate her player who got a technical, caused a minor (verbal) skirmish for a moment. Tensions flaring. Felt almost like old times.

i was thinking this over breakfast today. It'll be so kind of that bank in Norfolk to hand James Madison the Royal Rivalry trophy year in and year out.

I just checked the box score to see if my recollection of yesterdays game was correct. We really have shortened the bench-only played 8 people in the game. I realize Neff is out (sick?) and one of the reserve forwards went down with injury a few games ago, but this shortened rotation seemed to work pretty well together.

Just as an aside does anyone know why ODU #4 got a Technical Foul in the game? It happened down on the floor and I could not see what happened as it was close by or in front of the ODU bench and there were players and fans in the way. Also could not hear what the announcer was saying over the fans yelling.

Went back to watch what I thought I saw on the broadcast at the time (1:10:52 if you're curious). #4 stopped short to get Kiki to run into her and pick up the foul. Kiki went to the ground, and #4 was very proud of herself. Took a full two strides directly toward Kiki, and pretty obviously intentionally stepped over her back en route to collecting high fives from her bench. Seemed like a clear taunting call to me.

Thanks. Haven't had a chance to watch the replay of the game yet and as I noted my view of the court was obstructed so I had no idea why the T was called. Particularly when the fans around me started yelling about it and over powered the PA announcer.

Beating ODU is the gift that keeps on giving. It will never get old.

Brian, that collision (foul on Kiki) & technical (??) was what precipitated the two coaches jawing at each other a little bit. At the time, it came across like the ODU coach was supporting whatever caused the technical. I think she was just celebrating her player drawing the foul on Kiki. Whatever it was, Sean didn’t seem to like the celebration. Caused a minor uproar. I was enjoying the moment. Felt like old times.

Gotta love a good old fashioned hard nosed game and hated rivalry like JMU/ODU. Good to see them back together after so many years apart.

I put on in background today while doing some office work. Obviously knew the outcome and still enjoyed the game. Must have been a great one to see live. Kudos to the gals.....great game!

One of my favorite WBB memories was when we ended ODU's conference winning streak at the Convo.
Not sure it was the same game, but I recall an ODU fan coming up to the pep band after a game and saying that we should be ashamed of ourselves.

I was there too! Forget "favorite WBB memories", it's definitely on the board for top overall JMU sports memories. If I had to guess, the ODU fan was probably mad about when ODU had some star player literally collapse to her knees in despair toward the end of game once it was getting out of reach, and without skipping a beat the whole band + student section starts chanting "On your knees! On your knees!" Crazy energy in that place for that game.
