RE: Nikki Haley throws her hat in the ring.
Chance of winning the GOP nomination:
DeSantis or Trump: 95%
Anyone else: 5%
With that said: sure, let Haley and Pence and Sununu and whoever go through this process, too. It’s good to have a Plan C if both of the major candidates implode.

Only when she becomes a legitimate contender, and not merely a handy DNC/media foil for unflattering comparisons with the candidate who at the moment really frightens them: DeSantis.
That may eventually happen with Ms. Haley. I think that a lot of folks, including on this board, are underestimating her. It takes a lot to stand up to effectively to Donald Trump. She did so.

Give me a break like most republican politicians she doesn't have the balls to actually stand up to most anything....
she jumped on the last few cars of the train after the Jan 6th pile on. Now she's pandering to the "I'm not white" so I understand you. That might help her with the other balless candy ass republicans. It wont connect with working class, new side of the party

I agree, both sides underestimate Governor Haley at their peril. She deftly used the Trump administration to burnish her foreign policy credentials, but got out before she became really damaged by association. She managed to extricate on her own terms and without animosity from Trump, who hasn't even given her a disparaging nickname! She's a masterful politician, I don't think anyone else in the Trump era has been able to use him to so skillfully advance their own prospects without becoming tied to him or to Trumpism.
I'd be deeply concerned about facing Haley in the general election, if I wasn't totally confident that the GOP base is far too crazy and uninterested in electability to let her get anywhere near the nomination. If the fever breaks after another bad election in 2024 and the GOP again becomes interested in sane and civil adults who are more interested in conservative policies than in tossing divisive red meat to the base, Governor Haley will then be a strong contender to pick up the pieces.

I’m thinking she’s doing this posturing to get tapped for the VP role……
That sounds much more realistic to me. In my view, while she's clearly competent---I dont see her as someone ideologically I'd want as more than a cabinet level position. So, she's really not what Id prefer as a VP candidate. Strategically, my sense is your probably going to need a VP candidate that will help your presidential candidate win a swing state.

I think she will do well. The people turned off by Trump’s personality, Pence as too Christian or too Swampy, DeSantis good where he is, they like Haley.

The more Not Trump candidates enter the primary the more likely Trump wins the nomination with 45% of the GOP support. Haley is not a winner, not for GOP nomination and certainly not for POTUS.

IIRC, I don't think she's ever lost a race ... (however, I agree she's out of her 'element')

The polls support this, but I don’t buy it.
Donald Trump will face plant repeatedly over the coming months. My bet is that he will be out before the primaries even begin (leaving in an ugly huff, and promising to take all of his voters with him of course).

America is ready for a female POTUS but women rejected Hillary Clinton..over Trump. Think about that for a second.
It will be interesting to see if they reject Haley over Trump.

Rough math:
According to your profile, stinky, you post at a rate of nearly 15 posts per day. On a noodle-scratching estimate, I’d say that no more than 1.1 of those 15 daily posts get the @270EV hashtag. 1.75 years to the election is approximately 635 days.
1.1 x 635 = 698.5. That’s the o/u.
Now, my money is on the under. Because when DJT flames out, which he most certainly will, and when the Republican candidate (likely DeSantis, but not necessarily so) skyrockets past whichever chump the Democrats nominate, you will come to realize that @270EV really won’t be relevant in 2024.
