Hofstra blogger Jerry Beach is mad that Hofstra does not go to you this season.

http://stats.statbroadcast.com/statmonitr/?id=425152 will have statistics.

U8 we are on a 13-0 to lead 22-7. UNCW is brutal on offense right now. We were too prior to this 13-0 run

With a timeout and now to the media U4. Still lead by 7. Almost 5 minutes without scoring ourselves now.

up 27-19 at half. Neither team did much of anything. With how bad UNCW was, we should be up much more

I lied they hit a shot we turned it over on an inbound violation and gave up a dunk and foul so 27-22 at half

U8 down 45-44. Before the last 3 by Oden we had 39 of our 41 by 3 players (Yame, Amari and Coletrane). Tough to win with empty lines from some starters

U4 timeout. We lead 49-47 in a pretty uninspiring effort

We lost 72-71 in a game nobody wanted to win. No amari for the final couple minutes and both OT periods. Hope he is ok. Brutal game by both sides. Crappy way for our streak to end. Students would have made an easy difference in this one

leave the students alone. please. they've done a great job showing up all year. lucky for us...most of them don't care what happens on the road. our athletic department staff has given them a terrific environment they seem to enjoy and our teams...despite all the deficiencies on the men's side in particular...have given them entertaining games to watch.

expecting them to care about uncw is ridiculous too. playing local/regional teams that make sense isn't a northeastern thing. ever heard of southeastern conference football? they are in charge of college athletics. everyone wants to be them...but you know the one thing everyone always forgets as they're adding st. louis to the a-10, usc/ucla to the big 10, and nc ac @ t to the caa?

the sec doesn't give a damn about anywhere else but the southeastern united states. they play games that makes sense. they've kept rivalries that make sense. they'll add texas-texas a & m once the longhorns join in a couple years. they play competitive games the fans can travel to and get excited about because they're playing their neighbor. enthusiasm breeds interested which breeds money which breeds power.

if you don't understand this...you don't understand the competitive nature of sports. i grew up playing in the northwestern lehigh vs. northern lehigh rivalry and going to lehigh-lafayette games. too many people lost their passion and are more worried about net rankings, bracketology, and other nonsense that the average fan (like a drexel student) doesn't care about.

i'm going to the villanova-uconn women's game tomorrow and i'm pumped. supposedly it's a sellout. they had to make a waiting list for student tickets. people want to see good basketball between teams that they can relate to. next project is to get people to care about women's basketball like they should...but part of me wants to keep it a secret. i haven't seen a word from drexel fans about what denise dillon is doing over there. she's on the verge of making them a top 10 program nationally if things break well for her over the next 6 weeks. if it's another situation where we're finding a reason to whine about something like the other city schools turn their nose up to us...get over yourself. nobody hated villanova more than i did 5 or so years ago.

Oh I get it, but while some have that belief, that is not true at Drexel. We have played mostly local teams for awhile now and barely seen an uptick. If you are talking about schools our students relate to, its schools in the patriot league and northeastern than any of the other caa schools. We are still an engineering focused school (yes im aware about the rest of the university that has grown leaps and bounds like business and healthcare).

Also rivalries can absolutely be built. In the old caa our biggest rival was probably vcu or odu. Those games always brought it. Our schools have nothing to do with each other, nor did location matter. Its whether you embrace your conference mates or not, especially top teams.

If conferences like the SEC only cared about their region, they wouldn't have made TV networks.

KenPom calls Amari the second best CAA player behind Aaron Estrada.

I don't disagree. I haven't seen every team, but Amari is often the best player on the floor. He looked gutted post-game. I hope he's OK.

It's crazy that we kept that game that close with the line-up we had on the floor at the end.

My assumption there is that KenPom's analytics puts an very large value in his uncanny shot blocking ability and ability to alter shots. Outside of that, his offensive numbers aren't anything special.
