The author doesn't seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer.

No argument.

Not much new, even in subjective analysis. Seems like mostly a filler piece.

Not sure how sharp the knife is, but it's definitely new to the game.

I read the article. I learned that USF has an indoor practice facility, I hope that helps them a lot.

For USF, it likely means watching still more schools pass us by.

I suspect USF will be in the Big12 in 2030. A consistent 9+ win USF will be hard to pass over due to location and to a lesser extent; academics.

I suspect that all this ACC is dead crap is dead in 2030 the same as all the guesses in 2012-2020 (all idiots on this site said ACC was dead, no network) and is nothing.

FSU stays in ACC.
USF will be in the Big 12 or ACC in the 2030s

The writer should contact Cardinal Jim.
CJ provided a copy of the ACC's GOR on the ACC board just last week.

There is a lot of difference between a writer and a reporter.

Baker's bio says he covers high school sports, college football, recruiting and auto racing for the Times, which is a weekly (Sunday) newspaper. Not exactly first echelon sports journalist.

The author is an idiot. OK/TX shows FSU nothing. OK/TX only had 1 year of GOR to fix, FSU and UM have years left. The ACC has no reason to add anyone for a while, and B12 isn't looking east right now, so USF needs to get it's stadium built, and start winning games. Be a top 3 ACC program first, worry about the rest later. They have plenty of upside for Power addition.

Wow, I thought that thing was in the Highest Tower and Guarded by 4 Ancient Dragons. Cardinal Jim deserves a medal.

edit: can you link it? I didn't realize the ACC boards were so active.

News Flash! "Water is wet!" Be sure to read tomorrow's shocking expose on why dirt is gritty. It's by the same Pulitzer winner who cautioned you that fire can burn!

Now, back to our featured movie of the evening, "Idiocracy" brought to you by Brawndo!

The ACC board is quite active. Some of the current threads include unequal revenue sharing, 9 game schedule, and conference realignment.

ACC board is definitely the most active P5 board.

Do you have anyone in mind?

South Florida competed in a BCS conference for 9 football seasons (2005-2013). When I try to think of the schools that were not in a BCS league in those days — but are (or are about to be) in a P5 league now, I come up with 5:

Utah (joined PAC in 2011)
TCU (joined BXII in 2012)
BYU, Houston, UCF (joining BXII in 2023)

I exclude the schools like Memphis who competed in BCS for only one (1) season (2013) as the BCS-Big East transitioned into the G5-AAC

I think it could happen sooner than that, depending how certain dominoes fall.

This is actually the one that was signed in 2013 and was set to expire in 2027. That one has been floating around for a while, but the current agreement took effect in 2016 and was altered to include the formation of the ACC Network.

Those of us who have said it's possible the ACC is vulnerable have pointed out that we don't know for certain what the 2016 version of the agreement says. We don't know what provisions were made to both extend the deal and create the ACCN.

Until the public has access to that document, we can't be certain it is identical to the original from 2013.
