UA and ASU would get full BXII shares under the new BXII media deal (where if they add P5s their rights holder adds shares to the pot). And it looks like a share in the BXII will be larger than a PAC share.

That's the dagger.

SDSU is twisting it, taking away the PACs best remaining SoCal option. And it still gives the Arizona schools access to SoCal students.

At that point the BXII could take highest bidder for the fourth slot to get to 16.
Get those three and the BXII just kicked the cord out of the socket on the PAC life support machine.
If the Big12 can add SMU, ASU, AU, SDSU that would be a BOSS MOVE!
That would take them to 16 mbrs and increase their footprint of tv homes from 15.1M to 18.3M!

Your doing it again Big12. Stop trying to add schools within your footprint. What does SMU give you that TCU doesn’t already present to the conference??? You want to make a splash don’t stop at 16 schools. The Pac12 or whatever they’re going to call themselves after UCLA and USC leave are dying they just don’t want to admit it. Your two biggest obstacles are Stanford and Cal. Show them you mean business and offer everyone but them. Yes I get you want California the State not the school so offer SDST, Fresno St, maybe San Jose St instead to give you recruiting grounds there. Go to your TV people show them what a power conference could look like amongst the following.

Washington, Oregon, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, TCU, Oklahoma St, Houston, BYU, Kansas, Cincinnati, West Virginia, WSU, Oregon St, Arizona St, Baylor, Texas Tech, Iowa St, UCF, Kansas St, SDST, Fresno St

If a presentation of such was presented Stanford and Cal would come running and then you would have 24 teams to present and make an argument why this is worthy of HUGE tv deal. You could substitute Fresno since you would have 3 schools in California you could add UNLV, and then you can have that Vegas flare added and have you CCG there to boot. Plenty of possibilities if you really wanted to be the BOSS.

Certainly a boss move, but still zero reason to add SMU with 4 already in Texas (TCU of which is established in DFW metro). #4 in their scenario is a toss up. Would Utah be interested, would B12 want Utah? I'd think yes. Would Colorado tuck their tail between their legs and come back? Maybe, but I think they stick with the remaining PAC. I think you'd have to take a long serious look at Memphis or USF for the fourth add in this scenario. A 4th eastern team to offset the 4 team pod of SDSU, AZ, ASU, and BYU in the west would create some geographic balance as well and even be the foundation of some 16 team pod scheduling.

The SMU add would stiff arm the Pac from entering Texas

If the B12 takes SMU then the Pac takes UTSA and Rice. The B12 can't really stop the Pac from entering Texas.

But what happens if the B12 takes SDSU and Fresno? Then what can the Pac do? There are no other FBS options outside of the bay area in California. They'd be forced to either forgo the rest of California or rely on FCS call-ups (UC Davis, UCI, UCSD). Neither is a very good option and would look awful for the Pac.

If Yormack were to pluck from the PAC his play would/should be: ASU, AS, UU, CU, SDSU. Then USF (or Memphis) to the East.

East: Cinci, WVU, UCF, USF, UH, TCU
Central: Baylor, TTU, OSU, KSU, KU, ISU
West: AZ, ASU, SDSU, BYU, CU, UU.

Nope. The "Boss" move would be inviting Washington, Oregon, Stanford, and Colorado. With those additions, ESPN would surely increase the Big12 payout and make those programs very happy over the duration of the contract. The move would cripple the PAC and all but eliminate their power status.

I don't know that Utah or Colorado say yes to being in that package.

If you don't want to add SMU, then add Fresno State to give SDSU a current rival. And then your other option, Memphis.

East: Cinci, WVU, Memphis, UCF, USF
Central: OSU, KSU, KU, ISU
Texas: Baylor, TTU, UH, TCU
West: AZ, ASU, SDSU, FSU, BYU

I like this and find it plausible.....Hate it for Oregon State and Washington State to get left behind though
