His crap has gotten old. I can no longer tolerate this guy leading my favorite program. He grows more and more classless by the year. Taking shots at your fellow conference programs is a good way to make enemies. I love and appreciate what he has done for Syracuse basketball but now he is detracting from the good things he has done. He needs to keep his trap closed and retire.

Denny Crum syndrome .... it's all he knows.

Denny's last 4 years were up-and-down, and the downs were inconceivable ... until this year's ineptitude blew that ineptitude out of the water. But I digress.

Denny said something that has always stuck with me. He said his good friends told him that retirement was great, and that he'd put his time in, and deserved a chance to enjoy being retired. And he has had the past 20 some odd years to enjoy things. His health has started to wane .... but I know he's truly enjoyed his life since he hung it up.

It sounds like Boeheim needs the same kind of talk from his close friends too.

He entered Syracuse in the early 1960s. Played and was an assistant coach there. Became head coach in the mid 1970s and led them to their national championship.

Maybe he’s waiting for Syracuse to give him an honorary, emeritus ombudsman role so he can transition more peacefully into his 80s.

I think what’s going on is He wants to retire but with a paid bonus that maybe the University hasn’t come to terms with, thus the It’s up to the University talk. He likely would step down as long as a bonus is involved

Its not as if ACC competition is stiffer than BE competition. SU went 25-0 its first year in the ACC. The best they ever did in the BE was 20-0. Something haappened at the end of that year. SU lost 4 of its last 8 games that season. Since Joining the ACC SU has been losing to NYS teams like Colgate, Cornell, Buffalo, St Boneventure etc... when they dominated these teams the previous 40 years with maybe a couple of losses. Now SU is losing to these teams regularly. Its not the ACC, its Boeheim. Something happened to him at the end of that first season.
