I'm sure that has absolutely nothing to do with it considering both Houston and Cincinnati have more crime than Memphis.
Latest list of top 10 most dangerous cities.
Memphis #1
Houston and Cincinnati not listed.
I never said most dangerous city, I said crime rate. It was a statement that I had based on old information I remembered from years ago. Nevertheless, after seeing your post and looking at the most recent crime data, I am definitely wrong. I also don't see where it's obvious that Memphis is the "most dangerous" city, and the data certainly doesn't support this. There isn't even a consensus among the "tabloid" and "pop" websites that author these sensationalist pieces.
You never mentioned your source, and taking your word for anything is never the appropriate option. You have a tendency to make absolute statements that are typically incorrect, but you never publish credible sources for your "information." Without links, one can only assume that you went with whatever Google results you happened across and are calling it gospel. So back to the facts. Memphis does have more crime in general than both Cincinnati and Houston, but those cities are certainly not immune to a significant amount of crime. Cincinnati in particular isn't
that different compared to Memphis, certainly not enough to be a factor of any kind in regards to conference considerations.
The latest data published by the FBI is from 2019. I would consider any other source to be suspect. Wikipedia has an article showing a list of cities by crime that uses the FBI data as a primary source. Using that, we're able to get a broader picture. All numeric rankings below are based strictly on FBI data derived from incidents of the indicated crime per 100,000 population.
