Pendrith is tied for 4th at the Barbasol (the 2nd tour stop this week). A good finish will guarantee his card into next year.

Hope I am wrong, but he will play conservative on Sunday hoping not to sh!t the bed, only to sh!t the bed.

RE: Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2023 Edition
Mac shot even par today and missed the cut by 1.
Corey C. shot a bogey free 5-under today and will play the weekend.

And lest we forget that granddaddy of all tournaments, the Barbasol Championship down in the birthplace of golf, Nicholasville, KY, Taylor Pendrith shot 6-under today to sit in 6th place at -9, 4 shots behind the leader with the afternoon wave still on the course.

I think he is getting up that learning curve on being successful on the tour, but I just want him to get enough Fed Ex Points to keep the card for next year. Pendrith is probably hitting his peak ability about now and so getting consistent starts could yield a good result.

Shot -4 today and sits in 7th, 4 shots behind the leader who shot -9.
-4 loses ground on this course if you want to win. Need to avg. -5 or -6.

Yeah, he had the second best round today, -4, under extremely difficult conditions.

Eagled 15 and then bogeyed 17, 3 back and now on 18 while the top 3 have several more holes in hand.

PS: Finished 6 under on the day with a 66, not bad but not good enough. Currently sitting in 6th.

RE: Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2023 Edition
It's still a very good day for Pendrith, who has struggled on Sunday. I'd saym, at best, he could have gotten two strokes back (the mess on 17 and the birdie attempt from 5 ft on 10), but he made a whole bunch of 5-10 foot putts today (I think 4) and those are the difference between 6th and tied for 16th.

Solo 6th (which is where he'll likely finish) is good for 60 Fed Ex Points and guarantees his card for next year. 2 events left before the Playoffs.

Very significant step for Pendrith with a solid 4th round.

Congratulations to him

RE: Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2023 Edition
Hughes makes the cut and Pendrith doesn't at the 3M Open.

The more interesting story this weekend will probably be on the Korn Ferry Tour where Ian Holt is in contention (currently tied for 2nd, 1 stroke back) early in the third round of the NV5 Invitational. Holt hasn't done particularly well on the Korn Ferry tour this year (making just 5 of 14 cuts with no Top 10s), so a high finish is needed to keep his card.

Connors tied for 6th and earned a nice $584,286 payday while Mac took home $44,400 for his 58th place finish.

Not a great weekend for KSU sports, but nice weekend for Mac Hughes. He had some nice rounds, nearly broke 60 on one of the days at the RSM Classic. Finished a solid 2nd place. Connors 44th and Pendrith missed the cut. Pendrith finished 8th the week before in Bermuda.

RE: Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2023 Edition
Thanks for the update. I caught that yesterday and was going to post. Hughes had a solo second, but Aberg was just unstoppable yesterday. Hughes was two back with 3 holes left and Aberg birdied two of the last three to put an explanation point on top of it. Hughes finished four strokes back, but three strokes in front of 3rd, so you can get a sense of how unbelievable Aberg was.

The RSM Classic has been good to Kent, with Hughes and Conners both winning the tournament in the past (16 and 19, respectively).

For Hughes, he has moved up to 51st in the Fall Fed Ex Standings (highest position). The Top 50 are exempt into invitationals, but to give players a break along with giving middle tier players incentive, the PGA has made the Fall series such that you can advance your position for seeding for next year. Conners is already top 50, but Hughes (by finishing in the next 10) will be exempt into AT&T Pro-Am and Genesis Invitational. Pendrith has moved up to 89th place, which won't have much of an impact as he will get into full field events.

Thanks for explaining the workings, always find it confusing.
