Patton's great but this will always be the clip I watch whenever I need to get hyped for anything. Monday morning, don't feel like getting out of bed... One watch and I'm ready to tear the **** out of some dumb corporate meeting.

RE: Kent State vs. Bowling Green State
The Bowling Green State University Falcons are 10-13 overall with a 4-6 MAC record. They are in a dogfight with Buffalo, NIU, Ohio and two of the Michigan's to stay in the top 8 of the conference. This is a big ballgame for both squads.
The Falcons have given up 80+ in two of their last three games and have given up 100 twice in MAC play.
Kent State is at home. Kent State is the better team. Be the better TEAM tonight and get the win.
Kent State 80

RE: Kent State vs. Bowling Green State
I'm not a betting man, but I often look at the point spreads. I realize how the initial spread is determined and why it changes, but I find it odd that KSU started at a 13.5 favorite and is now at 14 points. What I really find surprising is OU being a 4-point favorite AT NIU. It would be nice to see Toledo beat Akron, but I really don't see that happening.

Right. It's simple. The goal of "the house" is to get an equal amount of money bet on each team. The initial spread is what they think will do that. Then the spread is adjusted accordingly depending on how the money comes in. What I find strange is that more money was bet on KSU when the spread was 13.5, even though only twice this year have they beat a MAC opponent by more than 13. NIU has won 5 of their last 6, yet are 4 point underdogs at home, even though Ohio has yet to win a road MAC game this year. Update: the spreads just moved to 14.5 and 5, respectively. As I said, I never bet, but gamblers must know something I don't.

I’ve got Thorn Toad in the first at Yonkers. I don’t like point spreads.

As I mentioned, I don't bet but I just look at them as a curiosity, to see what those who do bet are thinking. But there is no doubt that the "invention" of the point spread had lots to do with the popularity of football and basketball. People like to gamble and like to watch what they gamble on.

Only 2-11 from 3, but we’re leading at the half 34-25. Obvious there’s a big drop off from the top tier MAC to the middle of the pack.

BG shooting only 33% from the floor and 43% from the line will do that.

Maybe, maybe not. Akron is cutting into the lead and now down only three.

RE: Kent State vs. Bowling Green State
This team needs some walk-ons for garbage time. No reason Sullinger needed to be out there.
Big picture: Sullinger's first tech came after an excellent hustle play where players from both teams were diving on the floor for a loose ball and Sullinger got it ahead to Payton for a dunk. I didn't what, if anything, he did. He was taken out at that point and I figured he was done for the night. Instead, Sullinger was put back in with about 90 seconds left and took a hard (and probably a foul) pick with 20 seconds left. He walked down the court and then walked back and said something resulting in double technicals. Now, I don't know what he said, but no teammate was keeping him away from the BG player and no coach seemed upset over what happened.
I'd love to know what Sullinger said because I can't really see how he is getting Teed up that much given how much I see Payton flex after making a good play unless he has quite the potty mouth.

Speaking of garbage time, what the heck ever became of Odusipe?

I mean, they were going with only 11 "active" players all year, then Gio went down. If Odusipe isn't playing the only have 9 players.

RE: Kent State vs. Bowling Green State
As mentioned we need a walk on guard. I hate seeing Sullinger on the court in garbage time. Didn't see what happened on the first tech, but whatever he said on the second tech I'm good with it. O'Neal deserved it. That screen he set was dirty as hell. Sullinger's head snapped back when he hit the floor. He's lucky the back of his head didn't hit the floor. I'm not sure if Sullinger did something to get BG mad at him but my guess is BG didn't like Rollins shooting a three with the shot clock off right before that. I get not liking that, but it doesn't give you free reign to wipe a kid out.
My guess is Sully said "Take this L and go home".
