Mavis Staples
I was at last night's Mavis Staples show at the Egyptian Theatre and just want to comment on what a wonderful event it was. The venue looked great, the place was packed and the energy was high. It was so great to see that much life and positivity in downtown DeKalb. The NIU choir that opened for her was outstanding too, great event.

Great to hear! Just curious, was there a good presence of college age students at the concert? Hope that a talent and Chicago icon like Mavis didn't get lost in the generational gap of young adults.

Mavis and her family's performance with The Band at the Last Waltz was amazing.

RE: Mavis Staples
There were not many young people there. Which makes sense I guess when you consider Mavis is 83 years old.

RE: Mavis Staples
Mavis later albums produced by the Wilco Jeff Tweedy are real treasures and deserve a listen if you don't have them.
