Also according to the AD… the new Video board will be the largest in the G5. But it won’t be installed till after this coming season is over due to supply issues with Daktronics.

Funny, I thought they said the Herd's was gonna be the biggest.. maybe I've been on too much alka seltzer cold lately..anyone?

In baseball not football. Ours is one of the biggest in G5 in football though.

We've got a few images now of the new Biology Building (constructed in what is currently the old chemistry building, old planetarium, and old conservatory). It will feature a conservatory that I believe will be the 3 story glass structure on the east side. If they can complete that and replace the Mills Godwin building the Sciences part of campus will be one of the nicest corners of the entire University.

This is finally an area that ULM can compete on from a facilities standpoint.

Much needed new weight room to go along with redoing much of the south endzone. I particularly like how the attendance in the renderings is actually realistic. Ha.

Bobcat Stadium south endzone complex… is supposed to break ground this spring but might still be fundraising.
https://www.facilities.txst.edu/pdc/cons...adium.html

https://txstfootballcenter.com/

$125+ million Hilltop student housing buildings in process. Just completed foundations not long ago and has 2 cranes on site, framing/shell going up.
https://www.facilities.txst.edu/pdc/cons...lltop.html

$14+ million STAR park add on. STAR park is STEM research park. This is almost completed. Not technically on campus but an area like 2-4 Miles from main campus that University has been building on to for bigger STEM research facilities.
https://www.facilities.txst.edu/pdc/cons...n/irl.html

Another $140mil STEM building, this one in main campus. Selecting contractor stage.
https://www.facilities.txst.edu/pdc/cons.../stem.html

Most of these links came from this page below. Left off some admin stuff and the huge new music building supposed to be in the works and left off items regarding the Round rock campus.
https://www.facilities.txst.edu/pdc/construction.html

Should be some more student house in the works fairly soon. The Presidents house was taken down and university bought new president a house slightly off campus in a really nice area on top of the hill behind Spring Lake. Supposed to expand STEM “neighborhood” and add more dorms in this area.

New president has also publicly stated IDPF is high on his list and wants to get started on that fairly soon. Biggest problem in the way of that is would destroy stadium parking as only surrounding land is either a Grocery Store, or city owned section 8 housing and eminent domain would be covered in a decades worth of red tape.

How much does the owner of the grocery store want for the land??

RE: 2023 Campus Construction Thread
Although I don’t have have any glam shots/renderings of building that are going up, we’ve had some recent news that is huge for UL: we just finalized a deal with OLOL to purchase the land where their former hospital was located. This means that we’ve not only increased the footprint of our land-locked school by `20 acres, it also means we’ve secured a ‘link’ between our main campus and the athletic campus about 1.5 miles away. It also means we can and will be expanding our health sciences programs which holds a bunch of possibilities for us.

The location was actually broken into 2 parts, with a smaller piece that used to house some Medical Office Buildings, 2 large parking towers, a fitness center, etc., that was owned by the Diocese of LFT and that we completed purchasing couple of months ago. Those MOB’s will house classroom space for the nursing program, with classes slated to start there this fall.

The former hospital was demolished about 10 years ago, so it is now just undeveloped land….with tons of possibilities for further health-science related expansion. It also another large parking tower and other areas for parking lots, etc., which is all really needed as on-campus parking is a big issue for us.

Sorry for the long post, but this is just an historical moment for us, and we are extremely excited about it!

The press release:

UL finalized OLOL deal

From the master plan, which shows the relationship between the 3 campuses:

An aerial view from google maps, with the MOB’S circled in red and the now undeveloped section to it’s left:
