Now that pipeline is gone because a) it was identified, and b) the media went hysterical.

Sounds very credible.

Yes, thank you.

The Chinese (and Russians, and every other major country) have spy satellites, thousands of cyberwarfare experts, spies in the US government and military, etc etc....and we do the same to all of them. Spycraft, information gathering, and counterintelligence are complicated systems and intelligence comes from a wide variety of sources. The people (mostly conservatives) losing their minds over a balloon and demanding that it be shot down as soon as it floated over US territory are simple, short-sighted, and just looking for something, ANYTHING to criticize Biden and the current administration about.

Does anyone really believe that the US military, the most powerful military the world has ever seen, in conjunction with the vast US intelligence apparatus, was not aware of giant Chinese balloons in US airspace? People are still underestimating US intelligence, even after they predicted and publicly called out the impending Russian invasion of Ukraine months before it happened, while everyone else in the world was saying it probably wouldn't happen.

Out of all the things in the world to worry about right now, Chinese balloons rank dead last.

Certainly agree.

How many Americans are still staying out of the job market?
Last figure I saw was about 3.5 million.

I think most of them are on Youtube and other platforms trying to make money that way. At least, it seems like it.

100% this. People love to think the sitting president deserves the fault or blame for any number of things they have no direct involvement in.
