Note for the board
Remember as posters you have a lot of options provided by this forum.

You can PM (private message) other members. You can send emails. You can buddy other users (not sure what that is).

PMs are great for sharing information which you do not wish to become public. I got multiple PMs on Emoni's arrest by those who did not wish to post what they knew.

Very easy to pass info along with the 'I understand...' which means that some unnamed source gave you a heads up. Great way for Person A to tell B and B tells C and C can "I understand and no one knows who A is. I have done this over the years when I had good inside sources.

My philosophy was simple: I was very, very careful if a source was employed by the university or told directly by someone employed by the university to someone I knew. I understand that things can be very sensitive if it could effect their job, etc. etc.

My philosophy always was: If you have a scoop, I'll try to verify it on the Internet. If so, the Internet becomes the 'source.' I will post. If it isn't on the Internet I won't post it. It is 'for your eyes only.' (I worked professionally at cabinet department headquarters and had friends in high places. "For your eyes only" was the mantra if someone told me something sensitive.

You can put other posters on your 'ignore list' - kind of a mute.

You can control your posting environment. Just saying.
