Kent State vs. Central Michigan
The Golden Flashes have a big game at the MAC Center on Tuesday. The opportunities to get win #18 before the end of January, to keep their hold atop of the Mid American Conference and to stretch the home record to 11-0 are starring Kent State down.

In the way will be Central Michigan. The Chips are 8-13 overall with a 3-5 conference record and 1-8 road mark. That road win, oddly enough, was against the Victors Valliant in Ann Arbor back in December.

CMU lost guard Kevin Miller to an early season injury and he has not been back. Miller was the Chippewas leading scorer. In his absence, 6'3 guard Jesse Zarzuela and 6'6 senior wing Brian Taylor have paced the offense. Taylor is also the team's leading rebounder. After that, CMU has some balance and depth (for better or worse). It seems like most games CMU goes 9 deep.

This is a big week of MAC Basketball. Other big Tuesday games include Akron at Buffalo and Ball State at Bowling Green.

Kent State 80
Central Michigan 67
18-4, 8-1, 11-0

It’s Kevin Miller, he’s a very good point guard that appears out for the season.

Good catch. I will make the change. Hate to see/hear about season ending injuries.

Does someone want to wake up the team ? Down 3 at the half vs this crummy team as a 18 point favorite ?

Good lord

RE: Kent State vs. Central Michigan
Finally ran into a Center who can shoot the three. Made 5 in 1st half. Can’t play the trap at the top leaving this guy free to fire away. I think Sendy was too slow to change it up. I’m sure he will in 2nd half.

Decent crowd. About 2,500 to 2,700
I’d estimate.[/align]

Good lord
No excuses, we have 19 FTs to their 2, but we only hit on 11 of them. Gotta pick up the D in the 2nd half, start knocking down the shots and get Carry going.

He is shooting only 25% from 3 for the year yet goes 5 for 5..........

RE: Kent State vs. Central Michigan
Is this going to be NIU all over again, allowing the opponent to shoot better than 50% from the floor? Meanwhile Akron is blowing Buffalo away in Buffalo. Jeeze. Lousy at the free throw line, too.

RE: Kent State vs. Central Michigan
Two straight weak fouls, first on a box out on a FT, then back on D on a 3 pointer for 3 FTs.

Edit: make that 3 in a row, and you call those 3 then that’s not a foul on Carry’s layup?

They call the next foul for us, and that was very weak as well.

Big “par” for Kent State. 18 wins before February. Dang.

Big ballgame this weekend!

Go Flashes!

Not their best outing, but got things going in the 2nd half. Balanced attack with 6 in double figures.
