For those that don't know The Den is a forum on 247's stAtenation.com, that is dominated for the hardest of hard core A-State haters, and they hate all-things A-State, not just some things.

When Arkstfan-who is still on their staff, had to back off , The Den went down the tube.

It has been like Dodge City when Matt Dillon was out of town, and left Chester in charge.

Their Chester, Jeff Reed, does a reasonable job but is no Dillon and hides behind the paywall-- I'm not sure he even visits The Den much less post there and that was the opening the haters needed, and it has been a relentless attack on all things A-State.

Again , I hope no other SBC school has a "parasite" site like they have attached to your program. If you do, you have my sympathies, because it makes everything a little harder.

Posted the above to make the point that the good news is that, while their hate is shifting to football it is probably to little, to late because Butch Jones has brought in enough talent already to put a competitive product on the field next year.... and could have this year if he had felt doing so would not have compromise his long term goal of sustained success.

Their AD, who is from Alabama, knows that the football program is poised for long-term success as far as talent, and everything else is secondary to that. He also knows that Butch Jones- who is hard-headed to a fault, feels responsible for him being there, and feels a sense of urgency.
