I’m okay with giving Dilfer another year to possibly negotiate us a better deal. Signing with UA for just a year probably gives us time to shop with better salesmen at the helm

Because our current contract with UA is paying MUCH more than we ever got from Nike or Adidas. I imagine they contacted the others and the UA money is still significantly higher than the other two offered.

UAB got a can of couch change and a jelly of the month club subscription from Nike

I say go with who wants us money wise even if it is the Great Value brand.

Ultimately we will. Hell, after 2014, I was just happy we even had uniforms at all.

I literally just agreed that we will take the best deal for the most money for the program which is what we should do instead of just settling. Perhaps I should have gone into a four paragraph speech on how far we have come since 2014 where we were happy to get our program, back to where we are now having raised in upwards of $80 million for athletics, have a $150M dollar stadium that we kicked money in, a $30M state of the art indoor football operations building and indoor practice facility. We are entering a new football conference with a big uptick in revenue through tv and an increase in attendance. We have two major coaches that are getting as much positive media attention as ever in our history and we are recruiting four star guys in both major sports and not backing down from anyone. The largest coaching staffs in the history of our program. Thy sky is the limit. I could go on for ...... four paragraphs but I digress.

The attitude he’s referring to is real. We saw it even through the coaching change. Idk how you interpreted that but it’s definitely a washed argument for any situation in 2023. I prefer Nike but agree that we should chase the money. I was agreeing to that mindset being played out… please explain what it meant since I’m clearly off

I was standing outside the old dentist's office that housed our football coaches less than ten years ago when our program was shut down. The UAB football program is now in state of the art facilities and in a much better conference.

Being happy for our much improved status isn't settling somehow. We can b!tch about what we want and we don't have, but we don't need those things.

We’ve definitely come a long way! The scary thing about that is there’s so much more room to grow… but speaking of unis, we’re already doing the photos and videos in the old unis. Doesn’t confirm the one year extension, but looking likely. I also think that time is good for a better uniform design. Maybe 25’ is the year we get a new look!

The article said that UAB will stick with UA for one more year.

Unless you want to hit up the expensive campus bookstore or the barely there sections at Dick's/Academy

They do have a dozen UAB mugs at the airport. Oh and a couple shirts that say The University of Alabama at Birmingham at target that range from small to medium.
